Lucy Mendoza from YWCA Legal Services helped me a lot! She fought in court for me and my children as if they were her own. I always felt support and protection from her for two years. And now she is still with me, I am very glad that I met a professional with a big heart who spares no effort and time to help victims of domestic violence get out of the nightmare and find a new happy life. My case manager Alexis is also always in touch and comes to help immediately. I am happy that I found such people! SUPERHEROES WORK HERE!!!

My experience with the DV program here at YWCA was wonderful when I was with them. They’re very motivated to help, and are compassionate and accommodating and encouraging. I loved being able to finally breathe when they helped. My ONLY complaint was that I was going through SO much after leaving the shelter that I was simply unable to make it to their groups and classes, so they closed my case and wouldn’t help me anymore or even really talk to me when I would try to reach out. While you’re with them, and if you have the ability to continue their program after leaving the shelter, you’ll be in GREAT hands. The help that they DID provide while I was actively in their care was extraordinary. I even got to have my dog with me 🙂 and they took care of her too!

We've been meeting on Fridays here for years and rent on Saturdays for one off events. The staff is super helpful, and the spaces, like the main room with a stage, and the basketball court (also has a stage) have bee really flexible and useful large spaces. There is a dedicated parking lot in back and there's usually ample street parking.
