We've driven through twice once at the beginning of a blizzard and again on a beautiful sunny winter day. We recommend winter traveling with gear. But we love this area and it's quite beautiful. There are several areas for trucks to chain up, and a few run away ramps. There are a few places in the area designated as scenic views or for people to pull off and hit the trail. Please only use designated areas

Gorgeous pass. Probably have some snow and ice between Nov and April. Take it slow and enjoy the views. Good skiing way up on the great divide. Listen to CW McCall’s excellent tune- Wolf Creek Pass for kicks

It was fun to stop at the summit of Wolf Creek Pass. We stopped in early April 2024. There was still so much snow piled up against the signs. There was no snow on the road, but the snow that had been piled up on the side of the road hadn't melted yet. It was about 42⁰ up there around 3pm.

We didn't stay long. There wasn't much to do up there with so much snow, but it was fun to take a photo of the sign. At 10,856, this is probably the highest elevation I've ever been at and still had my feet on the earth.

The scenery through the pass was very beautiful, very Colorado. I was driving, so I couldn't look as much as I wanted to. What I did see was absolutely lovely. Majestic nature!

One of the more beautiful mountain passes in Colorado is definitely one of the most impressive passes into the SLV, especially in the fall, with the brightly colored aspen foliage

What a beautiful view! This is one of the most beautiful mountain passes in the area, specially in fall season. Look for the parking close by, enjoy the view and try to walk to different viewpoints from the parking lot to get different views.

It is a high mountain pass at 10, 856' so it can get really windy and weather can be unpredictable, so dress/plan accordingly. Definitely recommended when you're in the area.

It was wild how much snow was still up at the top of the pass. Roads were well maintained to and from Pagosa springs through the pass.

Good spot to get out and stretch... trails to go explore... there was still a little bit of snow 😄 a nice creek flowing to drown out noise of the highway some... little flowers decorating with their colors through the green... so much green... its beautiful and sereene... come up on one side snd down you go on the other of the continental divide
