It's a personal achievement to volunteer knowing your a part of something that feeds many others. Great satisfaction within myself. The staff is amazing. The building is spectacular.

My favorite local charity. They ably bring food security and other securities to downtrodden people locally. I wish they had the magic bullet solution to the overall issue of being downtrodden, but they are definitely the local rock stars in this arena for their niche specialty. Go WPE!

This is an amazing way to support your local community. There are several ways to contribute. Staff and volunteers are incredibly warm and helpful. They have a good distribution center as well as a general store. Bring your experience and passion. You’ll be glad you did!

This is the best place to be a volunteer! The staff trucks come in with food that otherwise would be dumped by the stores, and we redistribute to dozens of local food pantries and feeding programs for our neighbors in Contra Costa county -- thousands of pounds of food every day! WIN. WIN, WIN!

An extremely excellent, helpful organization. I was going to volunteer here, it just didn't work out. Don't get me wrong, nothing bad happened.

This place does so much wonderful work for the community, a great place to get involved and give back.

This place runs mostly on volunteers. The best I can figure is they get food from grocery stores and such that's not fit for display ( I think the term is "reclaimed food") and distribute it to various charities

They also distribute clothing and things like that. Check them out.

WPE. What a find! Its a great concept and was filled with really nice helpful individuals, when I often visited and donated from 2016 to present, it was my go-to donation place. However, the volunteer staff has changed within the last few weeks and the level of customer service has significantly changed, greatly decreased in my honest opinion.

I used to be able to go in and drop anything off that was listed on their website as a needed item, in any amount. But, apparently the requirements have changed, unbeknownst to givers and those who donate.

No longer is one bag of clothing an acceptable donation, instead it’s too small or no receipt is given for small donation amounts. Which seems odd, I would think a donation center would be grateful and thankful for any listed item being given, rather than have a ‘we’re picky about what we receive’, at least that’s the way it was when Dana was present.

But who am I to say what changes are made or what items are accepted, in what quantity. I’d just be thankful someone wanted to help another person.

The rating would have been 4 stars had my review been written earlier in the year, but with the recent changes, and the nonchalantness about the type of items received, I believe a 2 star rating is fair, as it’s more about the quality or lack of customer service rather than the concept of what the organization does as a whole.

This is a wonderful organization helping those in need in Congress Costa county. Volunteering here is a very rewarding experience and allows me to work along side some of the nicest people I've ever met.
