God is love. A church is about love. I used to live with Pastor Rick and Ms Shanna through the MOPS group from Tarryn. I began to pray and ask the Lord what to do because there was more I know about this church. They were loving people but love is God not from ourselves. Is it really love? Helping the homeless? Helping the people out of prison? Those who are a victim of dv? If so,why the church does not bring the gospel into their home too? When I spoke with prayer line (I was told to discuss to pastor, but later then ignored) I was told there were too many people from their church (my fear of being ignored). Right off right away I was being judged. I didn't feel welcome after that. I regret knowing Tarryn and everyone at this church including the pastor. No one is perfect, but this isn't the gospel if being toxic or under influence is "the way" of false teaching. So years later, I am not going to stand down. You cannot use the word of God and drink. How are the church to spread the gospel when alcohol is involved? And to be told leave after having family problems like myself and also my situation and of those who's in need? Repent and confess to the Lord before it is too late and if everyone thinks it is funny..If advertisement is the church, then you are NOT annointed in the name of Jesus. God bless you Pastor Rick. This is the message directly from the Lord.
Not from me.

Perhaps having had such high expectations allowed me to honestly become jaded after getting an idea of what their culture here really is. While it's certainly not scandalous or anything like that. Instead being the cliché of all clichés because the areas of opportunity are the stereotypical ones that have plagued modern Christianity for decades. In being truly welcoming to all of God's children. In being receptive and open to change. In truly considering the entire congregation when acting so that no one member can independently represent the congregation in any instance.

While the ministry of a church is central to the actual spiritual mission and purpose, it's through the congregation that one gets an idea of what the culture of that church is. Information one considers heavily when deciding whether or not they align well enough with that culture to feel comfortable and welcome enough to begin also worshipping there. So by reflection inward from time to time by the congregation, while perhaps considering points made by the congregation itself they can work to continually improve everyone's experience as a member of their congregation instead of simply serving the best interests of a few, they can truly create a place as closely modeled from Christ's teachings as is possible.

Never have I felt so invited into a community and loved in that community. From day one I was invited into different communities, small groups, an outreach that helps struggling families getting back on their feet, and even was given the opportunity to serve on a short-term mission trip to Uganda with them.

I've constantly experienced genrosity and an amazing environment to worship day in and day out. The leadership is incredible!

Don't hesitate to come join us!!

Pastor Rick is an amazing man and leader. His preaching will move you deeply. This man loves the Lakewood community and I can feel it every time I'm around him. Go there! This church seeks to make Jesus famous in the Denver community and Pastor Rick's leadership is unmatched in any church I've ever visited. Love the people of Westwoods!

I went there for their food pantry. It took a while to get through the line but once you did the people were very friendly, and the food was abundant. They were very nice to me and my child. They have the food pantry every Thursday starting at 6 in the evening.
