The football "undefeated" team. Don't know how to take a loss. Well, let's say the Parents don't know how to take a loss. So good luck with who plays against them! Sore losers when they don't win. Yell ugly things and profanity at the team players on the field they play against. They say no megaphones 📣 yet home bring theirs. Feel free to bring yours so when they call your kids ugly things on the field.

Very unorganized! Within a program people don't know what their or their co-workers' roles are. I'm still waiting on my first spend check and can't get an answer as to why it's taking so long. I'd like to implement the same late fee policy they have on bills that aren't paid on time to receiving credits owed to students. I will not recommend this college to anyone.

Great school; small class sizes and outstanding professors, who are accessible. Thanks to the substantial education I received, I was able to graduate in four years and go on to earn 2 graduate degrees through a fellowship awarded by a major state university. If you like the action of a big city, go elsewhere. If you like the outdoors, a great education, and exceptional extra curricular opportunities, go to Western. My son also graduated from Western.

Alumni. I graduated years ago, before the name change. I have lots of personal and family history tied to this place. Western and Gunnison Valley have shaped my life in so many ways at so many times.

Had the best 4 years here! The classes are all taught by actual professors who care a lot and I learned more than most others who went to big colleges.

Currently, I am typing this out of anger and I really feel the need to voice my opinion.

Western State Colorado University was not for me. I have had the worst experience being here as a freshman. I am constantly harassed by my neighbors. Have I tried talking to my RA's or RD YES, of course I have and they have not done a damn anything about it. They simply suck at their job. They are suppose to maintain their dorm halls, but they are never around. I was unfortunate and had a terrible RA. She was never to been seen and was never there to stop anything bad that happened. I'm tired of being harassed and faculty members not taking action, so sadly I am transferring. Also, the cafeteria food is terrible. It's almost like they are trying to slowly kill you. It is a waste of money buying a meal plan that cost a ton, and being given crap food. Every meal leaves you feeling disgusting or unsatisfied. If you get food poisoning, DON'T BE SURPRISED. Western has given me little positive opinions of this school. I know it doesn't matter what college you go to, but this college has to be the worst with Alcohol and Drugs. It is the only activity kids do every day, every weekend. Did you know people nicknamed this school, "Wasted State" There is nothing to do in this town except party, and if you're not into that sort of stuff, well you're screwed. Western State also has no diversity. Definitely would not recommend this school if you are looking for diverse cultures or a wide range of ethnicity. Another main issue I think should be addressed is how they arrange the housing accommodations for students, particularly freshman, is horrible. They seem to room you with others solely based on your major, not personality. Personality should definitely be taken into account because having one thing in common is not good when living with a roommate for a whole year. Another note worthy thing to consider here is that the bookstore is a rip off. Literally, it is a waste of money. It's very expensive and the way they tax items in the store is ridiculous. Truly, you are better off finding a book from upperclassman or buying online. Homework. HA! GOOD LUCK TRYING TO DO HOMEWORK IN YOUR DORM ROOM. Especially if you are a freshman!! Let me tell ya. It is better to do it somewhere else. People in the halls are so inconsiderate and obnoxiously loud. Constantly, freshman are drinking or smoking weed. It is not a quiet environment at all. YOU'D BE LUCKY IF IT IS. Sleep is crucial for class. HAHA! Good luck on getting sleep too. Seriously, trying to sleep or even taking a nap is ridiculously hard. The halls are terrible and RA's are never around to enforce quiet hours.

There are only a bare minimum of positive things that I can say about Western. For starters, it's great having a one-on-one conversation with professors. Getting to know your professors is helpful, only if they are nice though. Occasionally, there have been a few sour professors that are pretty rude, unfair, and can make college life feel like hell. Western is great if you are athletic and love snowy weather. Many students here are part of a sport and go skiing. The library is amazing!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND going there to study or doing group projects. The library is where I spent most of my days .. mainly because you can't do homework in your own room! It's praise worthy there's a variety of clubs; however, they all host on the same day! So it's hard to be apart of multiple clubs.

This college just did not suit my needs academically and just living here has been the worst. I wish I could give this college another chance, but I am truly miserable. Attending here has been very depressing, I've cried for hours. I can not image bearing this for 3 more years.

If you have read too the end of this and are wishing to attend Western, I wish you the best of luck. I hope you will have a better experience than I and come to love Western, where as I couldn't ....
