Absolutely loved this place! I attended college there from when I graduated high school in 2004 until the second time I graduated there in 2009. I earned two degrees ( A.A.S. Office Administration-2007 and A.S. Criminal Justice-2009). I was a member of the SIFE team. Loved it! I flew to Atlanta GA and Dallas, TX where I was a speaker & presenter in competitions. I went on to ETSU and graduated with a B.S. in Criminal Justice 2012. I can honestly say the people at WSCC are wonderful and staff are exceptional. They truly care and want you to be successful. Some math professors would stay after class and tutor me because math wasn't my strong point. I graduated each time with honors, but I can say it wouldn't have happened without their dedication. I am forever thankful! I would probably have been a professional student there lol. I made long lasting friendships. I wouldn't change it for anything. If you're looking for that small town feeling or the feeling to belong somewhere, it can be accomplished there.

This college seems to be rather scattered. My son is a stellar student and always has been. However, he’s now in the nursing program. It seems they want him to fail. He studies huge quantities of time and does all homework. Has talked to the professor about anatomy and physiology, and yet nothing changes. He has tested on things that they haven’t presented in the book or in class. This is a young man who graduated with honors. He was the head of the national honor Society for Spanish And a member of the national honor Society. Yet he just failed an A & P test. He has never failed a test in his academic career and I asked what was going on and he said what I just told you previously. I’m a registered nurse with a masters degree in teaching and I can tell you the way they teach is a violation of all nursing and teaching principles. I told him not to drop and we would see what happens… If he does fail, anatomy, and physiology, and should have to take it over again, he will not be attending that school.

I took the Basic Motorcycle Rider course with hubby. We learned a TON and the instructors (Lane and Jordan) were awesome! They kept us moving forward with enough time on each exercise for us to become comfortable. Would highly recommend the course to anyone wanting to get licensed or refresh skills! I had zero experience except for riding on the back of a motorcycle with an experienced rider and the instructors got me to the point of being comfortable enough to know that I CAN operate one on my own! (Not awesome yet... but basic skills to work on)

Went here for motorcycle training. The instruction was very good. However at times the instructors were very unprofessional. One cursed a good bit and another threatened to slap me. I wrote them a good review and was told they wanted to talk to me alone. I asked if I should hold my review pending said talk. I was told no it was fine and the review was snatched from my table in front of me. Then I was told that even though I was one of 7 that passed and only got one negative point in testing that I needed to retain because I was too fast. When I told them that I was a disabled veteran with cancer and many other problems and I didn't want to spend the time when I can practice alone I was mocked. I will be contacting everyone remotely in charge as I can because this is outrageous.

Walters State WANTS students to fail. Read this many times, please. They want the students to fail so parents and/or students have to pay MORE money. It doesn't matter how many times you reach out to student advisors they never contact you back until AFTER the deadline to drop or switch classes, which results in WS getting to keep your money. OUR hard earned money. This establishment doesn't want students to succeed due to their hard work. They want students to FAIL. The more classes you fail, the more money they make due to the added fees you have to pay to take classes again. One "teacher" actually had the audacity to state they "hated the students." Who does that? Why are they even there? Parents and students, please research different schools. If it's TN Promise you're concerned about, WS isn't the only school available. I hope this review can save even one student or parent from the stress AND their hard earned money being taken.

I have finally had enough. After three children attending this campus, I have finally decided enough is enough. The level of incompetence has gotten worse throughout the years. Student advisors, financial aid department and also lumping in TN Promise; we have been charged so much money for fees or not received our money back from mistakes made by Walter States employees. This establishment is a complete money pit out to take your money, that's it. Our child was directed to take classes he or she did not need, drop classes due to getting schedule figured out by student advisor number 4 or 5 and campus refused refund due to class being dropped a day late, even though it was a mistake on their end. If this was an isolated incident, I would not be as upset as I am. However, this is not the case. This has been happening since 2012. Do better , Walters State Morristown. We work hard for our paychecks, and we don't have the extra income to throw away.

While I was on Halo, I spent three years studying at Walters State. It was a great educational experience. The instructors were invested in each individual student and extremely personable. The library is where this campus really shines, even though I am finishing up at a four year school, I still come here to study from time to time. That just tells you how great the library is, some of the best staff you will ever meet too. I studied at two wscc campuses and had a great experience at both. I would highly recommend. And to the students there, finish the fight and get that degree!

Walters State is a wonderful community college that provides a quality education at affordable pricing. The student/faculty ratio is not large, so you'll have no trouble getting personalized instruction.
