While searching for mom and pop shops, we found this quaint restaurant which is attached to an antique mall in, what appears to be, an old brick factory. Their menu has a huge selection. I had the grown up grilled cheese with potato salad. The grilled cheese had a great variety of cheeses and onion on a, delicious, wheat berry toasted bread. The potato salad was delicious with bacon in the dressing/sauce. My hubby had a mushroom and Swiss burger, which came on a pretzel bun with kettle chips. All of the food was very good. There was only one waitress but she was very attentive and offered great service. Their decorations of antique and vintage items were very tasteful and interesting. We will definitely return.

Can't believe Vintage 1889 has been here since 2012 and I am just now finding out about it. Food is excellent. I can recommend the Flatbread tomato pie, goat cheese pesto dip with pita, and Cuban sandwich. And they have beer! Small local family business. Friendly, helpful wait staff. (Special thanks to Danielle the cool bird rehabber.) This place is so interesting, they have bicycles hanging from the ceiling, and the front of a firetruck made into a window. (Yes kid-friendly.) Outdoor seating, in addition to quite a few tables with chairs inside. Good for families and groups. The restaurant is even attached to super cute Vintage 1889 antique shop with many booths full of collectibles. We will be back! Highly recommend.

I'm a Texan moving into the area so I am looking for great food and atmosphere. My wife grew up in Birmingham to answer the why here. We were invited to Vintage by our neighbors. We arrived at 5:30 on a Friday and quickly realized we wouldn't have a seat if our neighbors hadn't reserved a table. A local band called 'The Locals' were playing and the place was filling up quickly. Nearly every person walked in and hugged a few people if not all. We eventually ordered food. The 'Jesse' caught my attention. The description sounded like a hamburger made with donuts. I hesitated but my curiosity got the best of me. I ordered the Jesse and my wife ordered the French Dip. Both meals hit the spot and were delicious. The Jesse was surprisingly good. They should label it as sliders as it was 3 small burgers. It is sweeter than I expected, but the beef pulls the flavor closer to a balance. The band got started and they are amazing. Like white girl crazy amazing. They played a wide range of songs. From Nirvana to Hank. As the night was wrapping up, many people were walking around still greeting one another. We were new so several stopped to introduce themselves. My favorite was John Connor, the luckiest man to "s#!t behind sneakers". I highly recommend Vintage 1889 but plan ahead. Don't stop in for a quick bite.

If you travel through the area and are looking for a very cool "local" experience, it doesn't get any better than this. The restaurant is part of a historic, once world renowned sock making factory that makes for some amazing atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the food was prompt and delicious. They encouraged us to look around and we saw some of the old machines that still had thread in them from the day they were turned off. All this and it was only lunch time. I can't wait to pass back through on a Friday or Saturday night and see a band or just socialize with the locals and sample their dinner menu.

Well, in theory cool place. In reality, not so much. Very nice waitress, however, and I loved the mismatched tables. Food just not. Ate on a Saturday at 11 for lunch. Pretty empty. No fries available for lunch. They are currently having a bathroom problem, you have to go to a adjoining building to use one.

Nice restaurant in an old Hosiery factory. Shares space with an antique mall. You can check out antiques while drinking a beer. Food was AWESOME! We had Goat cheese pesto. Roasted red pepper gouda soup, and a muffallata.

LOVE THIS PLACE!! Everything about it great! My daughter and I sometimes split our sandwiches just to taste of different ones. My go-to favorite is the Grown-up Grilled Chz w a bowl of their 'red tomato' soup!! !! Service n atmosphere is always great too. Ive only been during lunchtime, and prices were very reasonable for the amount of food served. We stop in there every chance we get!!! Hopefully be there this this Wednesday for a quick good luncheon!!!

We visited this small quaint restaurant while staying at Desoto State Park. The staff were amazing and food was very good. We tried the spinach artichoke dip, the veggie sandwich with gouda soup, and Flatbread. We are vegetarian and the food for us was very delicious. I would definitely recommend this place.
