VFW Post 1 - Denver, Colorado

Went to the VA in lake wood to see about my benefits. Was referred to these guys on site. Both guys handling my claims were terrible.
First guy seemed really busy and handled my claim poorly. Okay... a little understandable but unacceptable. Second guy I've been working with has blown me off, and again, has handled my claim poorly. Currently he's suggesting going to court, but that will put me in limbo for another 2 years. All just to prove a nexus. I have been fighting since 2022. First claim 2019. These guys are terrible, and I've seen the drama about their HQ supporting the "Guard Act."
They want to pass that but from my experience on how they've treated my claim, and my concerns... Yeah, something doesn't smell right. I honestly don't want to dish out for a claim shark. However again, from my personal experience. The VA and them... I can see why the vet community supports and turns to third party.

I don't know, it's different, and that's not a bad thing, just not my thing. Colorado has become kind of hostile to vets, I hope my fellow combat vets are finding something positive here.

Veteran of foreign Wars does more for vets because the members here had to have served in a foreign conflict to be eligible to join. Post 1 was also the oldest post founded in 1899.

This building is also a art gallery open to the public and it's part of the First Friday art Walks. VFW is a great organization with a mission to perpetuate the memory and history of our veterans Hooah!

VFW Post 1 is simply the best veteran related nonprofit organization in the state. The successful programs and superior services provided by this org is superior to any other vet related nonprofit. They have a strong presence in the region because of their successes while providing volunteer opportunities that have substance and meaning. Nearly every nonprofit organization, vet related or not, wants to be a part of their resources tools because the membership provides strong beneficial and committed talent. VFW Post 1 is number one because they take the lead in promoting collaborative efforts in addressing the needs for our veterans population.

When I heard that Denver , Colorado was the host of the very first VFW post, I knew I have to be part of history. Most people when they think of The VFW, you can tell they think the post is made up of Old male Veterans who come together to tell old war stories and play bingo. Not this post (Okay maybe they do still tell old war stories) But this VFW Post has a new twist and its called NEW BLOOD. You will find members ranging from age 20 to over 80 and have served this country in every branch of service all around this world. Another thing that sets VFW Post One above the rest is it has the most female members of any post in Colorado and soon the nation. (That's a goal) Now this mix of old school veterans and the young veterans has help VFW Post One again become a VFW Post that other post are talking about because they see a lot of energy coming from VFW Post One in the number of hours it spends helping the communities of Colorado and reaching out to veterans! Today, I was honored to now be a member and will do my best to help this post even larger and stronger!!!

The main public function of VFW Post No. 1 is the regular First Friday art shows. They can be somewhat variable in quality, but the space is large and a lot of art is exhibited from both veterans who are artists and a limited number of non-veterans. The Post also has monthly meetings and other scheduled activities for veterans.

Must stop by. Probably tomorrow cause I need advice on my claim for 100%. Got it almost, all done. Last stop with, private Psychology Doctor. Private is the key.
I was working with VA Psych unit. They could not help me. This Thursday at, 2.p.m. My psych &, I will finish my claim needs. He will do my Evaluation mentality capacity when Military forced me into a risk for life which enhanced my depression. PTSD was my life after tour.
But for Gods Grace, I will have my appeal won, after 39, 40 years! Yahoo!!!

I have been a part of the VFW post 1 since 2015.
active in their art community , other events, and a veteran auxillary member. It is a top notch all inclusive family of veterans, active military and their families. They truly are a diffeerent kind of post.
