I visited Vera Lloyd yesterday (12-19-23) and was very impressed with the people and the facilities. Everyone I came in contact with was professional and friendly. I visited the main office and one of the houses. They were both clean and warm. It was very obvious they are very caring towards these kids.

horrible place!! the front office doesn’t do their job, cops got called because 3 girls jumped 1 girls and the staff there laughed at her while getting beat and bleeding everywhere!! monticello cops said the place needs to be shut down! it’s a gut wrenching place. there’s SPIDERS biting you while you sleep, roaches, ceiling is falling in! very agressive people and nothing gets done about them! they let DYS boys around the girls and one of them grabbed me by my arm and threw me into the wall, left bruises & fingernail marks. he did apologize but it never should’ve happened. you are locked up most of your days, occasionally they let you go to the pool. you ask to eat, drink, sleep, go outside , use the bathroom. a staff there yelled threatening remarks at one of the youth. all the girls reported her through chain of command, & nothing happened! staff talk about other staff behind their backs. i was in there because foster care and it’s was gut wrenching.

Do not DO NOT send your children there!
I was there when I was in foster care and i will tell you that the Christian theme is just for show.
I amen adult now and in spite of the horrific treatment I received there ,I made to college and I am hoping to forget about that place
