This is a beautiful slice of Colorado splendor nestled in this quiet mountain getaway. The best part of the Ute Lodge is the customer care from the host and their team. As I was there camping by myself for the very first time, everyone would check on me multiple times a day. I was delighted to find that there was a bathhouse with a shower and flushing toilets, typically not included on a camping journey! I love the community fire and the peacefulness. Everyone there was so friendly. Definitely worth a return trip!

The campgrounds are well taken care of and the hosts are great. Family friendly campground with everything from primitive camping to 2 bedroom cabins. RV sites are available. Great access to multiple hiking trails and the Wagon Wheel ATV trails. We will definitely be back as there is so much to explore. The stars at night were awesome as the Milky Way was seen almost every evening. You really can’t say enough about this place.

I stayed two nights at the Old Baldy yurt with a group of friends, we had a fabulous time! Gorgeous views and sunsets, great hiking nearby. Very peaceful, cozy accommodations. Karl and Mona are the sweetest, most gracious and generous hosts. Highly recommend Ute Lodge, I will be back!

Such an amazing place! It is secluded and some cell providers don’t work (AT&T works best). Private lake that you can fish, paddle board, and kayak on. Basketball/pickle ball court, badminton/volleyball net, tetherball, sandbox, and swing-set.

There are multiple hiking trails right next the property and a few more just down the road.

There are 10 RV sites, 2 tent sites, and 8 cabins! There is a bathhouse that campers can use. Fires are not allowed at the individual sites, but there is a communal fire pit. Which brings a sense of community to the whole place.

It’s absolutely beautiful and we love it here. Karl and Mona are amazing hosts and are some of the kindest people!

Definitely recommend staying here. It is 30 miles from town so anything you need for your trip, you’ll need to get before hand so you’re not making a ton of trips to town.

I’ve been coming up to this area for close to 40 years and this was our first stay at Karl and Mona’s little oasis in the Rockies. What a wonderful experience a beautiful place to stay for a few days to get away from it all! Definitely will be back!

We just got back from a week at Ute Lodge. We went in our trailer and stayed in site 6. We had the most relaxing week. When we drove in, we realized this was not like other RV campgrounds we had stayed in. It is very remote and rustic. Although we did have fully functional hook ups for water, electric, and sewer. We were virtually alone aside from some guests in the cabins. When I say not like places we had been before, when we checked in, they said we should feed our food scraps to the pigs, there were sweet camp dogs to pet, and horses to watch grazing on the hillside. The camp hosts Kim and Jason were so friendly and we loved visiting with them. The area of Colorado was not one we had been to before. There was great fly fishing in the White River and hiking literally behind our camper along papoose creek. We typically go, go, go when we camp but this week was sitting in the sunshine, hiking, fishing, reading, napping, and playing guitar. Exactly what we needed. We highly recommend Ute Lodge. Give it a chance and take a deep breath and relax.

The Ute lodge exceeded our expectations!! We stayed in the yurt and it felt like we had the whole mountain to ourselves. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible.

We rented 2 different cabins and stayed 3 nights. I have never felt so at home staying at a camping spot. The owners make sure to make you feel welcome. As a matter of a fact you feel as if the owners and all guests are family. There are beautiful hiking trails. An amazing fishing lake. Horses to ride. A park for the kids. And let's not forget the chickens, pigs and Turkeys the kids get to see. And the most fun was the community fire pit. Its amazing to get to know everyone around a fire. We will be going back several times EVERY summer. My Grandson says that Ute Cabins is the gateway to the "Lost magical Forrest" 😉 I highly suggest everyone makes it up there to stay.
