Nightmare experience!!! Please do not send your children here. My 11 year old son was attacked by an older patient hours after arrival and put in a second ambulance to go to an ER at another hospital. I was told he was not wearing shoes. He spent 11 days at Trustpoint and came home completely traumatized. The care was SUB PAR. My son came home traumatized and way worse than he was when he went. Staff would not allow him to sleep with his weighted blanket, which helps him regulate himself. They would not let him have his stuffed animals. He was misdiagnosed. When I picked him up, no doctor or nurse was around to talk with me before discharge. As far as I know, he received little medical or psychological attention. No one ever returned my calls to discuss all the issues and questions.

I tried to write my review but it wouldn’t let me post so please see attached screenshots of what I wanted to write. I feel I’m worse after being discharged vs prior to being admitted. I have been left traumatized and anxiety is through the roof. If this post can help one person then it’s worth posting.

Update to original review:

Shortly after leaving this review my family members social worker reached out and was able to quickly provide the necessary documents. I appreciate the swiftness and I am glad we were able to resolve the issue.

My family member did have a good experience at Trustpoint, and overall seems to be doing better. Again, thank you for rectifying the situation.

Original review:
I did not personally use this facility; however, my family member was treated inpatient for 11 days. When he was released, he informed his doctor and social worker that he needed a doctor’s note to return to work. For whatever reason, they refused to give him a physical doctor’s note, and insisted on faxing one instead.

His job has yet to receive anything clearing him to go back to work. Moreover, someone from this facility called him yesterday about a bill for over $4,000. I think it’s kind of ridiculous that someone is calling to collect such funds, but isn’t willing to help someone return to work so they can pay this outrageous bill. Furthermore, we will be requesting an itemized statement listing all charges and what was covered by insurance and what he is responsible for.

Lastly, I am my family members biggest advocate. I called to try to get more information about getting his short-term disability paperwork filled out completely. Two pages were left out, which has caused a major delay in payment. I called and left a message with HR and his social worker and have not heard anything back. This facility is sorely lacking with communication and doesn’t really seem to care about patients after they leave.

Just picked my mom( who has dementia) up from trustpoint and I am livid. First off she fell the other night and you can obviously see that her wrist is broken. When asked about if it had been looked at we were told she hadn't complained about it so they didn't look at it. I carried her a big bag of clothes for her to wear and when we picked her up she had on a paper outfit and someone else's jacket. Lots of her clothes were missing including new clothes I had bought her. There should be NO REASON for us to pick her up and immediately have to take her to the doctor because of broken bones. Her face is all bruised and cut. None of this was relayed to us when they called to let us know she had fallen. They told us she was fine. And I brought her clothes for her to have and no reason that she is wearing a paper outfit and most of her clothes missing. Be sure you check the facility out before sending your loved ones there.

Our child was brought here from Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital back in March of 2023 for mental health issues. At the time, he was only 11 years old and was depressed. We were never allowed to speak to a Dr once he got there. Anytime we called and left messages regarding his care the 8 days he was there, our calls went unanswered. When we did get a hold of anyone, they couldnt offer any sort of guidance or give me and my husband any knowledge of what exactly was going on. Not once did we get to talk to a physician. When I would call after he was discharged with questions for the doctor, I was told I would have to send an email and the doctor would read it, but they dont get on the phone and talk to you. Ridiculous. I recently was told by our son that he was terrified in that place and kids ran wild and the staff were not the greatest. Our son was the youngest in the ward and he said they put him with a 15 year old. Just pretty much a horrible experience all together. And the cost is outrageous!

Five stars to an amazing nurse who went ridiculously above and beyond to be kind to our daughter!!! Our 11 year old stayed for a week and accidentally forgot their plush kitty cat. An angel of a nurse saved it from who knows what and took the personal time to send it in the mail to our daughter. This is the difference that the staff at Trustpoint can make in the life of a struggling youth. We are without transportation and live an hour away. This nurse saved our family over a $100 Lyft/Uber roundtrip and restored a little girl their most favorite and treasured plushy. We've had to make some difficult decisions financially and this act of kindness was unexpected but ridiculously appreciated!

There were some good staff and nurses but overall my experience mostly sucked. I was sent there by foster mom who claimed I was trying to off myself (I wasn’t, she was abusive and feared I was going to tell my DCS worker) three days after I got there, I was crying and was told to talk some pill to help me calm down. I refused, they said if I didn’t I’d have to get a shot to calm down. I got more upset and was taken to the back, I was crying more and raised my voice to try and get my point across. Was given a shot to calm down, then was put in a restraint. Never been in one like that before though. They laid me on a bed in the room that was built into the floor and strapped me to it by my wrists and ankles. Stayed like that for 5 hours. After maybe 2 1/2 hours they came in and gave me another shot, told me if I had to use the bathroom I had to use a bedpan but the staff sitting in there woth me was a man, and he was the only one in there. They let me up after 5 hours but gave me ANOTHER shot before they untied me (I had been calm for the last 3 hours) and I ended up sleeping/in and out of consciousness for the next 2 days, they wouldn’t tell my mom anything when she called them during those days.

Horrible experience. Shady staff. Was admitted for Depression. Treatment by non Nurse staff is against the law. Should be removed from anyone’s radar.
I was physically abused, mentally abused. I left there worse than when I arrived on 9/24/2024. Someone tell me should If I consider taking legal action?
I will say anytime the staff was asked for anything they would never follow through.
I let a nurse know I was scared for my safety, it was not addressed.
. I think the nurses are afraid of some of the staff. I would be after what I observed. Everyone lies and protects the bad staff, this includes the patient advocate as well as case Manager. I told them what happened to me in great detail. I was lied to, they said they would file a complaint with the state. The lied they
Did Not. I called the day after I left and they refused to talk to me. I was told to never call back. I have major PTSD over this. Not sure the best was to proceed
