This place is terrible, and I'm paying way too much for it. I only had a chance to tour a one-bedroom, but when I moved into my studio, I was shocked. They didn’t mention that the apartment has a tiny fridge, a mini oven, and no dishwasher—something that really hits hard for someone like me who enjoys cooking. None of my pans fit in the oven, which is beyond frustrating.
The floors are cheap fake wood that’s already peeling in places, and where furniture has been moved, there are noticeable scuff marks. I asked maintenance to fix some large rips in the floor, and their “solution” was to slap a piece of clear tape over them.
There’s no AC (which is a huge rip off for paying so much), and in the winter, my apartment becomes unbearable and insanely hot. If I close the vent in the main room to cool it down, the closet and bathroom become so hot that my jacket zippers and jewelry are actually warm to the touch. We get texts to not open our windows or in my case the sliding glass door in the winter but it is impossible not to when you are sitting in a sauna.
The laundry room is a complete joke. The washers and dryers are tiny, only holding about half the load of a regular machine. This means you end up paying double just to do laundry. And with only three washers and three dryers, if everyone needs to use two washers, only one person in the whole building can do a decent load of laundry at a time.
I could go on and on. This was one of the last available places to sign a lease for and I have for sure learned why. If the leasing department reads this please let me break the lease and end my misery.

Renting at The Social West was a positive experience from day one. The staff and management were exceptionally helpful with my move-in and continued to be friendly and attentive throughout my stay. Maintenance requests were generally addressed promptly, and the front office was almost always available during the week for any assistance. I lived at The Social West for about a year and a half, only ending my lease early due to a family emergency back on the East Coast. The location is incredibly walkable, just off Elizabeth, and since I worked remotely, I rarely needed to drive during the week. Overall, I highly recommend The Social West for its convenience and great service.

When touring the apartment Hailey and Preston were amazing, they answered all of my questions and were extremely helpful. The staff is always a really important factor for me when deciding to move, and I couldn’t ask for a more helpful and kind staff here. Upon move in they were very attentive and helpful in every matter. The apartment is very clean at all times and is quiet, my unit has ac and it works great, the entire environment of the social west is so good for dogs and is very peaceful. It’s also walking distance to many food places and a 7 eleven. It’s a great location if you go to csu. I’m very happy being here and appreciate Hailey and Preston for all they have done for me regarding move in.
UPDATE:
After living at the social west for a few months now, I can truly say this is the best apartment I have ever lived in. It is very obvious they care about the residents. They are always outside doing yard work and always make sure it is a clean environment inside and outside. When you put a work order in they are extremely fast with getting back to you as well as super helpful. While all of these things are great, I think what really stands out about this apartment is the countless events they hold, it is truly so sweet and kind, they host food, crafts, and cute festivities multiple times every single month. I could not ask for a better management. They are truly wonderful.

Had a great time here. Kelsey and the other support staff were very helpful. Close to campus plus a very active business complex right across the street (barber shop, restaurants). Very quick drive to downtown. Would recommend (10/10)

I’ll start with the good:
The location is amazing, especially if you need to be at CSU for work or classes. Easy walk, bike ride or drive over. Also around a bunch of food places, coffee shops, etc.
The staff at the leasing office are great. They’re always respectful, courteous, and answer any questions. You can tell they’re trying their best with what they got.
The overall studio is fine. Absolutely nothing special but it’s a fine place to live.
Now the not so great:
Facilities:
The fitness center has bare minimum. It’s okay. The worst part is the lack of lighting if you go at night. One side has a flickering light and the other side has a motion detecting light. Problem is, if you’re on the floor stretching, doing core or anything like that, it won’t detect you and it’ll go dark. If you’re on the other side with the flickering light, it’s dark at the other half due to no movement. So you’re just in a half lit fitness center with a barely working flickering light.
There are three paid, normal sized washing machines in the laundry room in my building. One has been out of order since I’ve moved in over a month ago so it’s really only two. I live by the laundry room and that door slams very hard at all hours of the day and night.
The studio itself:
The studio was not clean when I moved in. Staff was respectful and apologized and made sure to get a cleaning crew in by that weekend. Should have been done beforehand but at least they were quick to fix it. Like I said above, at least staff is great.
Everything is very low quality. Seems like it’s just thrown together with lower standards, maybe it’s because they market to college students and think they won’t care. My floor got a cut in it and underneath it, you can tell this floor was put right over the old floor and not properly adhered. I’m sure they’re going to charge me for flooring upon move out, and not take into consideration that it’s their low quality practice. I posted a photo for reference. Floor shouldn’t easily cut like that. Doors/cabinet hinges are loose, only one outlet in kitchen area and one of the plugs is taken by the fridge. So if you have more than one other appliance, you’ll need to run an extension cord across the entire apartment to the opposite wall. No dishwasher, window or AC in this studio. You definitely get (or don’t get) what you pay for.
Posting some photos of the studio since none are available on the website. The studio layout is doable and overall seems nice from the outside looking in until you start noticing the low quality and low effort put into these apartments. Overall it’s just okay and simply a place to live while in school.

For anyone reading this I will give you an honest opinion as someone who’s both lived in the motel looking buildings and the K building. Its long but gives you an idea of what to expect.
Pay attention to the 1 star reviews those are the honest reviews. The management team artificially inflates the reviews by offering giveaways to anyone that leaves reviews on the 3 big apartment sites. The last one was in Sept 2024. If you are trying to win free stuff would you really rate anything 1 star?
Pros:
-It’s close to food places and close CSU.
-It has grills you can use.
-For a couple months there’s a pool available.
The motel apartments:
Appliances are not quality up to date and even some of my oven burners did not work. Expect that you will be able to hear and feel everything your next door neighbors are doing. (Use your imagination what I mean by that). Waking up to those 2am activities get old really quick. If you live by the laundry room expect nice 11pm slams from the laundry room door and dryers.
K-building :
The whole building smells like a combination of a nursing home and weed. There are dead bugs and spider webs hanging off ceilings and walls. There are brown nasty water stained ceiling tiles in the hallways along with busted exit signs. On wild nights the college kids like to bust out the doors that you use to enter the building so anyone can come walking in. Ive seen it happen at least 3 times in the past year.
Expect the homeless to steal things off your bike so I wouldn't suggest keeping it outside.
The Social West has some of the most unethical business practices I have ever seen. It all starts with the 49 page contract you sign.
3 memorable situations:
First:
THIS IS IMPORTANT: When March 1st of the following year comes around and you have not made the decision to stay another year and signed a lease at that point you apartment is up for grabs. This place will literally rent your own room out from underneath you before your lease is even close to ending. This happen to me. How is that remotely ethical? Their remedy was offering the most expensive units in the (k building) called the "Penthouses". If those wouldn't of been available you are at the mercy of other apartment places availability or you are flat out on the street.
Second:
There was a time I was locked out of the K building on a Friday night. I called a number to get ahold of Social West where I was told "theres nothing we can do Im sorry you either have to wait for someone to open the door or call a locksmith". The reality is no lock smith is gonna help you break into a apartment building. I get it don't forget your keys but stuff happens sometimes.
Third:
I tried to call the office to inquire about some personal life issues and how they would impact me at the social west. The office didn't even have the decency to return the phone call. Yet I was paying for your salaries? All the office did was send me a generic paragraph long email citing some part of the contract. If you ask me it was to keep any sort of emotion or feelings out of the picture.
I attached a invoice expect to see some of those charges not all of course. Leaving the apartment clean or dirty you will still pay cleaning fees. The funny thing is they hire people to clean right, but then they charge you on top of cleaning to clean the oven. Yet my oven wouldn't even perform the clean function and would stop working when you tried to start it.
Summary:
There are probably 100 apartment places in Fort Collins and the vast majority will give you a much better experience than The Social West. This place isn't worth it trust me.

Now that I'm out of here, I can say how I really feel. This place has been, and is, wretched. It's overpriced for college students, and I seriously don't understand why anyone else would consider this location.
The staff lied to me when I first rented an apartment back in 2023. They showed me an apartment with AC, a dishwasher, windows, a balcony, etc... then when I moved in I was put in a studio with no windows, no AC, no dishwasher, and the walls were all cinderblock. Haley- my first point of contact- lied by omission to make a sale, renting my apartment. The studio was like a prison cell. I had limited options since I'd already signed the lease before I knew how badly they moved the goalposts. Don't be like me- find somewhere that at least has a single window. This location was detrimental to my mentality. I was also right next to the laundry room in the C building, so I would hear doors slamming ALL THE TIME. I even bought some felt pads to attach to the laundry room doors and their frames to try and mute the slamming. Didn't work. Also, you will hear everything your neighbors get up to in their personal time, if you catch my drift.
Alex is pretty great, and Jonah was very friendly. Both did all they could and I truly appreciate them.
I was charged over $3500 for my move out, which is totally unjust, borderline robbery. They nickel and dimed me everywhere they could possibly think to do. When I expressed how this felt unfair and dishonest, I was called "rude" by Kelsey. I expect a reply to this review saying "you signed a contract" which will be their tyrannical excuse to continue ripping me and other people off. Maybe they'll even respond trying to claim I really was "rude" lol. If i even get a response, they won't be able to deny any of the events I'm sharing. I had to live across from some crackheads for the first year. They were throwing stuff at people walking by, screaming without clothes. I felt unsafe here. More than once I had to call the cops during their drug-fueled rampage. The druggies ruined the apartment they stayed in and yet they remained for over a year. I breathe easier now, knowing that I'll never have to come back to this overpriced, anxiety-causing, county-jail-looking, rundown motel of an apartment complex.

Lack of communication or care for their tenants. Had an issue with my lease, other person on lease left around beginning of August, was told my new roommates would get the new lease to sign on the first Tuesday of September. It's now October 9th and while they finally got back to me about it, I don't think we've heard much in terms of the new lease. Everytime I went in, no one knew what I was talking about besides the property manager and whenever I'd talk to her, she told me to wait (waited almost 2 months). It wasn't until I commented on their "team building" insta post that I got a response.
Not to mention putting in a matience request and not getting a call or informed of when someone would come by, just getting a message that they went in when no one was home. Did a great job! But I would've loved to know when it would happen so I'm not sitting at work knowing a stranger is just running through the bedrooms
3 stars because I truly do love this place, neighbors are nice, property is nice (when they arent just focused on the front lot only), and it's in such a nice walkable spot. It's just that the office doesn't seem to care about their tenants or what goes on here, only having a good image of a great team. Super disappointed with the way things have turned, not that they were ever good. (I could talk about the black mold we delt with or the pantry smelling like cat piss before even moving in but that's a different story)
