If I could give 100 stars to the crew that picks up furniture donations I would.
Shame on me for not getting their names they deserve to be mentioned. They arrived today, Dec. 5, 2024, to pick up a full size futon and a desk.
In the seven years we have lived in GJ we have had The Salvation Army come to pick up donations several times. They are ALWAYS courteous and professional.

Retail furniture outlets could learn a thing or more from these gentlemen.

THANK YOU GUYS!! And thank The Salvation Army for all they do.

Salvation Army is such a wonderful place of HELP and CARING in the Grand Valley. They have a wonderful staff willing to help and their staff at the Thrift Store is so pleasant. Such good items in the thrift store and they price things fairly and not overpriced like Goodwill. Check the store out just north of North Ave and 4th street.

Volunteered here for the Christmas Angel program. All I can say is wow! The amount of time, energy and work that goes into just that alone is absolutely mind blowing. We should all be so thankful that we have them here for our community.
I also have had a close family member go through their program and they are still sober, well & created lifelong relationships.

Great place for those in need of food or clothing and church services, the Salvation Army will provide you with an emergency food box and put you on schedule to get food on a monthly basis, if you are in need of clothing or kitchen items, the SA will help you with a voucher to their thrift store, in Sundays you may attend church at the SA chapel, so if you are homeless or just in need go to the office and there you will be give an application for registration to the food assistance and schedule you for the monthly food assistance. God Bless.

You would think that they would be more willing to help someone in need when they go to them for help... Don't get me wrong they do do some nice things and help in ways family needs help but they ask for allot in order to get help and some people don't have what they are asking for... As well as their attitudes are not the friendliest... I would think as much as they get donated they would be helping our community now then they do instead of keeping I for them selves... I'm not saying this just to say it but allot of money donated should be for the community not their personal people... Since they shut the rehab houses down your know there is that much more money that they get and no one but then sees it's sad
