Love going on weds.evenings, but I prefer the sermon given then on this new study Bible book at tables. I don't understand the new christen version bible . I was taught the King James Version in my younger years and it's very confusing to me.

So happy we found this church! We love the worship music, teachings, and wonderful chapel! We attend a small group in QH/Lancaster area about 7 miles from the church and have made some great friends! The Christmas candle light service was fantastic complete with a hip hop song, snow, sleigh, fire pits, s’mores, hot chocolate and more! Friendly people and very engaged pastoral staff! We’ve found our church home!

I came from Norfolk, Virginia (Langley) searching for a nice church in Palmdale recently and found The Highlands, an enthusiastic, fun, and concert-like church. Though I am Buddhist, I wanted to raise my children Christian to seed them with positive words and morals and this church absolutely meets that need, making the sermons fun for adults and children! They have a toddler daycare area, older children room, live music with fog and lights, a great community, and a "happening" atmosphere! I love listening to their LIVE STREAMING service on Youtube, making it accessible to Millenials and internet savvy young adults. They even have a viewing room for Moms with babies so the crying babies don't disturb the rest of the people. They are so welcoming and kind, even if the people know you are Buddhist. There is no pressure or pushing, which makes me feel welcome to keep coming and listening to their wonderful sermons. I've teared up more than once listening to the sermons, which are given by different people, always exciting and wise. It's okay to just be among people who want to learn from the masters (what Buddhists call) enlightened beings - Jesus. People are so kind - regardless if they are Christian or not, the people that go here and serve here are just good, kind people, who will nourish you with positivity and Light....something so needed in today's society. If you are new to Palmdale or the west coast, I highly recommend this church! Perhaps not as traditional as the east coast, but it is invigorating and the Highlands is very good at creating the community feel.

We go every holiday season to light the candle, receive communion & fellowship with like minded worshippers to remember the true reason for the season. It started after my brain surgery in 2015 my friend & I went. It’s become a beautiful tradition between friends. God bless you Highlands.

Todays church service - 04/07/2024 was not a service at all it was actually a pointless sales pitch. They wasted the entire service time to talk about an unnecessary project which involved building a new building on the parking lot which is a $7.5 million expense. What a waste of time and money. They made the message loud and clear. It was about wanting to “declare their future” which just meant they wanted to start an unnecessary new build since the church is supposedly so crowded yet they only fill up 45% capacity in the 8am services. And on average reach only 75% capacity from each service. I’m sure everyone could agree that this money could be put to better use instead of building another building. It was very much in a style of corporate meeting which is very disappointing because i brought new members to this church this day and they received no message or word from God but instead heard about how the church needs to raise more money to fund this project and that we as the “ people” of the church need to contribute to the success of the project. Which is also why they brought up the importance of giving. It was honestly very embarrassing because I thought and spoke very highly of this church up until today. I have been a member for 5 years and when I invite new members and all Jeremy and Aimee do is waste the entire service time talking about this project which should have been a 5 minute update but instead dedicated an hour of giving the church data on bar graphs and measuring how much money they still need to fund this project just disencourages people to go to church. The greed is getting to them and it shows. People contribute what they can from their hearts not to meet a number that someone has set in place. If God wanted this change to happen within the church he would have done it and all within his time not on anyone else’s “ timeline “ which btw they also showed us all their timeline. God brings people to the church for a reason to hear the word of God not a sales pitch to fund a random project. I spoke to other members of the church and they all thought the same which was .. they should get to the point and don’t waste our time because we came to hear the word of God. The leadership is changing and it’s sad to see. They could have easily said if you guys want more details about this project that we are trying to fund go on our website but nope let’s waste a whole church service talking about this one point. I hope they are open to hearing feedback from the members of church and stick to preaching the word of God.
