What a great experience! Tim was a wonderful host and John, Barry and Tam in support made this an incredible journey. Good group of veterans on the trip- may have had different experiences but developed a nice camaraderie as the trip progressed. Met and got to know some really good guys. Hotels, dining and travel arrangements were all first class but meeting and talking to the other vets really put this trip over the top.

For any vet wondering what TGGF is all about, if you have an opportunity to participate on one of their tours-DO IT! I will always have great memories of this trip.

I was selected by TGGF last year to accompany ten Korean War Veterans as a chaperone to Washington D. C. attending a ceremony honoring them and the 70th year anniversary of that war. It took place @ the Korean War Memorial on the Mall.

We got to witness them being honored by President Trump and First Lady, Melania as well as by other dignitaries. It was quite a classy and memorable event.

Tim Davis, President and CEO of TGGF has many programs within this organization which he and his teams administer and execute throughout the United States and the Free World for Veterans. These excursions are worthy causes and document past war histories with class.

I am honored and humbled to have been a small part of this great organization recognizing the veterans of Korea..."On the shoulder's of Giants, TGGF is..."

I was part of a small group of survivors of a 4-day successful siege by 6000 NVA troops of our hilltop firebase which provided artillery support for Bu Prang, a Special Forces camp located by the border with Cambodia in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Some forty years later, I became curious about the events leading up to our E&E from Firebase Kate to Bu Prang - an all-night forced march through the jungle. My research on the internet led to reconnecting with some of the survivors of this battle and the airmen that provided critical air support.
TGGF contacted us to arrange a return to the Firebase Kate hilltop for the artillery men, Special Forces advisors and airmen that were interested and able to make the journey to Vietnam. The program organized by TGGF was a “dream come true” experience for the eight of us to return to the Bu Prang area of operations and relive those harrowing days and nights on the besieged Firebase Kate hilltop. We artillery men were finally able to express our deep gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices made by the airmen and the Special Forces advisors in defending Firebase Kate then supporting our E&E to Bu Prang.
The TGGF one-week program for returning Vietnam War veterans includes a stay at a superb hotel in the central part of Saigon with a field trip in the middle of the week to the battleground. Our battleground trip required a 6-hour bus ride each way to Gia Nghia for a two-night hotel stay an hour away from the Firebase Kate hilltop. Since I spent my entire tour of duty at remote firebases in the Central Highlands, I had not spent any time with the Vietnamese people. Therefore, I was blown away by the kindness of the people in Saigon and by the number of people that went out of their way to express deep gratitude for the efforts of the Americans to defend their country so many years ago.
If you are offered an opportunity to be part of a future TGGF veteran return program, do not pass up this chance of a lifetime. Tim Davis, the founder, creates an amazing deep immersion program.

A group veterans from Tiger Bravo, 2nd Bn. 506 Abn. Inf. 101st Airborne returned to Viet Nam on 10/13/2023. This, without a doubt, was a trip of a lifetime, thanks to the efforts of "The Greatest Generations Foundation" (TGGF) This was by far above and beyond any tourist attraction that could ever had been expected. Our accommodations, at the 5 star Caravelle Saigon, were impeccable. We were informed that this was the location that Peter Jennings reported the war from. The entire staff, to include the Concierge, were at our beck and call for the duration. The quality of food and drink were to die for, better quality could never have been expected. Our tours were well planned and executed, to include
The Presidential Palace, the War Museum, the Tunnels of Cu Chi, and many battle sites we were involved in, and more. The people of Viet Nam, without a doubt, were the nicest and kindest, one could ask for.
I would highly encourage any veteran of the Viet Nam War to do as Tiger Bravo did, and make the decisive move to meet and greet this country with open arms. You will find the experience of this life changing move, one you will never forget. Thank you, TGGF.

I have just returned from Vietnam as an honored guest of The Greatest Generations Foundation (TGGF). Myself and eight other VN vets were taken back to Firebase Kate in the Central Highlands of VN. 54 years today, 150 of us were on Kate when we were surrounded by 5,000-6,000 North Vietnamese Army (NVA) Regulars. With massive air support and the incredible fighting spirit of the men that defended Kate, we held out for 5 days. Without a prospect of reinforcements, no water and low on ammo, on our 5th night were broke out through the north slope as the NVA swept up the south slope. Every man there knew he had seen his last sunrise...but by the grace of God, we made it through enemy lines. And to go back and revisit Kate with my fellow warriors was the final closure that we all were looking for since 1969. TGGF made it all happen. TGGF treated us with respect, dignity and honor. Everywhere we went, TGGF had arranged and coordinated our transportation, meals and accommodations. Timothy Davis, Founder and CEO of TGGF, never left our side and always had our back. For 20 yeas TGGF has been taking warriors back to the battlefield and this trip has made me whole and extinguished the remaining demons that I have lived with since 1969. To TGGF - thank you for a trip of a lifetime. Capt. Wm 'Hawk' Albracht, 5th Special Forces - Firebase Kate commander.

I was honored to be in The Greatest Generations Foundation (TGGF) tour of a specific Vietnam War battlefield.
Through the kindness and incredible generosity of Tim Davis and the Greatest Generations Foundation, the defenders of Firebase Kate returned to the site of the fight. No easy fete to take a flock of Septuagenarians off-road, off-trail, and uphill through the mush and brush of the Vietnam jungle.
We retraced the hilltop and the positions of the artillery positions. We noted the tactics and strategies employed to save all of their brothers-in-arms.
The battle was fought more than half a Century earlier. The place was very different. Yet it was very much the same. Where jungle brush once reigned now coffee trees and agriculture dominate. And still there were craters from enemy artillery fire and from friendly gun emplacements. In the quiet stillness of the place today there lingered amongst the visitors in their hearts, eyes, and memories the threat of fate of their lives.
I think the mission of this heartstring tugging return has many facets. Among the accomplishments are coming to grips with the realities of one’s memories and the emotional as well as physical impacts of the violence of war.
The greatest accomplishment of this journey into the past was breaking the “silence of membership” into the closed isolation of and insulation of being a veteran (writ large). We shared our flawed remembrances and forgave ourselves.
A return to a place of hurt and harm is for anyone a challenge. To get back some healing and comfort is priceless.

The Greatest Generations Foundation, and Tim Davis, are to be enormously thanked for making this happen and in doing so in a respectful, tenacious, and very professional execution. It was always a world class experience, even though it could be difficult and a challenge for the participants. We will never forget it!

Three years ago I, along with 9 other Marines from the Infantry Company we served in, were invited to participate in a return to Vietnam program offered by The Greatest Generations Foundation. It was the most generous and cathartic experience of my life. While I had heard there was the possibility that we might have the opportunity to actually go to areas deep into parts of Vietnam that our Infantry Company only got to via helicopter 57 years earlier. Not only did we do several excursions to those long ago combat zones, but the leaders of The Greatest Generations Foundation made it possible for us to pay tribute at these locations for those whose lives were lost in battle there. The most important part of the experience for me, was the surprise I received when our convoy stopped in the very village I was assigned to as a Combined Action Marine during the last half of my tour in Vietnam. For this I will be forever grateful. This, and by their actions throughout our stay, proved to me how much The Greatest Generations Foundation truly cares about veterans and their contributions to the security of the country and the world. Everything was First Class. From the accommodations, to the food, to the continuing comaraderie with Brother Marines I served with so long ago. And to new friendships with many of the men that served as Ambassadors for The Greatest Generations Foundation in helping us maneuver through whole process.

In February 2019 I had the honor of traveling to Vietnam with Marines from Foxtrot 2/1, Vietnam 65’-66’. The trip was an emotional one and one filled with tremendous healing for the warriors. With original battle maps and GPS we were able to return to the battlefields of “Operation Harvest Moon” and Operation “New York”. No obstacle was too great to locate and return these warriors to the hot LZ (landing zone) they landed in and would be baptized by fire. Letters from each of these veterans and their families describing their appreciation for the healing that has taken place. Since 2001 hundreds of vets from WWI & Vietnam have benefited from similar programs.
