My Dad died at this place from neglect on December 18, 2022! I often found him in dirty, stained clothing when he had many clean clothes available. Bed rarely got made, or changed. He never could get his medications he needed, and his congestive heart failure got really bad. Dr (his cardiologist) said he was not doing well without his CHF medication and he desperately needs it! After he died we found he had only received one pill and we have the proof! His other meds were also a nightmare! One time they even refused to give him his money he had on account there! After he died it took about 6 months and many phone calls, to get a refund of what was left over. Please don't send someone you love here! We have records of all this! Horrible place...one day they didn't get but a mini muffin and a tiny piece of sausage for breakfast because they FORGOT to order the food! Multiple times l found old food on his floor & under his bed, when he was sick! Be careful putting your loved one in their hands. You may live to regret it, but your loved one might not, like my Dad.

Victoria Bedard has been a wonderful sales manager in her interactions with our family. She gave us a wonderful tour; and has been so helpful in returning our calls with answers to all of our questions. What a great employee!

My Father has been at The Bridgers of Hendricks Creek in Tarboro, NC since November 2022. Since he has been here most of the employees that were there when he came are no longer there.
I thought placing him here would be a great thing. He’s literally a 3-minute drive from my job and I can check in on him as much as needed. AND IT IS NEEDED! Since he has been here his health has declined tremendously. On the most part SOME of the staff is pretty good. However, there is always a rotten apple in every barrel.
Some of the staff are RUDE to the residents. My father's first couple of weeks, he told me that instead of the staff coming in and asking him if he needed help being changed, they came in and asked him, if he was” PISSY”. He tells me that there is a male staff member that comes in his room to see if he is wet and if so, he tells he needed to change. So instead of him assisting him he takes his clothes, throws them on the bed and tells him to change himself and that if he can roll his power chair down to smoke a cigarette he can change his own clothes, WHAT!! Keep in mind you are talking to grown people in which because they are there it helps to pay your salary. They also have feelings. So, to go from underwear to Adult Depends is degrading to him within itself.
There have been times when I would go there at 1 and 2 pm during the day and his bed is not made. There was one incident where I called him about 9:00pm and told him to make sure he gets a good night’s sleep, and he tells me that he would if he could lay in his bed. He proceeded to tell me his bed had not been made all day and when he asked one of the staff members on 1ST shift when would it be made so that he can lay down, she tells him “NOT TO WORRY ABOUT WHEN IT WILL GET MADE!!! AND IT WAS NEVER MADE AT ALL. I had to get in my car and go to the facility at 9:30 at night go in the lien closet find sheets that make his bed myself. When the administrator was called, she found a way to make it be my father’s fought that his bed wasn’t fix and raised her voice at me, which was the wrong thing to do. They are Always short staff and especially on the weekends. I have had family members tell me that they had to stand at the door 20 minutes before someone came and let them in. Some just left!! And the front door alone should have been automatic doors. It is so hard getting a handicap person in and out of those doors.
He has had a stroke and is afraid to stand and get in the shower on his own, the showers in the rooms are not safe for a person who has limited ability to stand up. This is supposed to be an assisted living home, so therefore the residents there need assistance in their day-to-day life.

My father always complained about being hungry. He says that they do not get enough food to eat. So, I go there one day during his dinner time, and they are serving a baked potato and a small bowl of salad to a bunch of grown people for their supper. NO MEAT WHATSOEVER. I asked one of the ladies where was their meat and she said that was all they will be eating tonight, smh!!! And this wasn’t the first time.

Recently the administration has change and I pray with this new administration improves things around there and the proper people are put in place that care about the residents. Thank you, Cassandra, and Ms Annie, Zack, Amanda just to name a “few” who are always kind, polite and seem to care.
