Well they sure wouldn’t help my daughter and her three little kids! She is homeless, and the hotline person said come in Monday and they will assist her, but when she went in the lady told her they cannot help her at all with anything! So why the fancy website, all lies?

I don't even know where to begin. They don't return phone calls, inquiries, seem insincere on the phone and constantly push you to different organizations and resources. I've experienced a TON of trauma, and I tried to explain this to them, and it felt like nothing short of re-traumatization. Look at the hours and you'll see that they aren't in this for victims. They're closed during times when most victims need support the most. Colorado Springs is the most cruel, poorly educated, abusive, and racist place I've ever lived in my entire life. Shame on all of you for collecting money from donors with 0 help for women who need it the most.

Every time I have tried to get assistance with fleeing a DV situation (twice now), you tell me you can't help me. Call for resources, get talked over and ignored. Ask what you actually do for victims, and I'm yelling? I never once even raised my voice. The lady was literally interrupting and speaking over me! Her tone got louder until I hung up on her. Who do you advocate for? People are calling you in fear, moments of vulnerability, and looking for hope. Y'all were not my first call of the day after a horrifying night. And this was the treatment. Talked over from the second she answered the call, ignored, then accused of yelling when TRYING to ask a question, but get talked over every time. Either better training is needed, or judging by some of these comments, investigated into what you actually do with your funds.

Couldn't have gotten through the last couple of years without them. They offer many great services to help people through multiple kinds of trauma, have many resources for help, and do great things for families. They are all considerate and comforting. The only place I have felt fully safe, not just physically but mentally as well.

Horrible place. Absolutely worthless! No care concern and no remorse when they offer. No help. They make me sick.
I honestly believe they even potentially have a problem with racism and refuse to help those that are minorities. If you look at the reviews, I'm pretty sure you can see that there's a pattern going on here. If you have any melanin into your skin, they're most likely going to treat you like you are lesser than and refuse to help you.
They are full of excuses and nice little platitudes that try to justify them being paid by the federal government to assist people and all they do is give people other numbers to call. I'm pretty sure the federal government doesn't give them as much money as they get just so they can be able to brush off their responsibility upon other agencies.

This is false advertising. Ive reached out to this agencies twice over the course of 15 years dealing with two different abusive men. I was asked to relive my abuse then told they couldnt really help me with anything, put on a wait list and never heard from them again. Do better.

I had so much hope when I found out about this resource. But now, I am more discouraged than ever! I keep trying to contact people to get help, but because I don't have little kids, it doesn't seem like there's much support for me. I'm unimportant because I don't have little kids. I was told TESSA could help with housing. I was instead given a list of people to call. My abuser works remotely like I do! How can I call And even when I found a way to email or chat with a place, because I didn't have kids, I was disregarded. It's so discouraging to be given false hope. Without help for a small deposit on a place, I have to stay with my abuser.
That's all I need - help with a deposit - to get out of this situation. I have found a place to go, but I just need help to get there. I was told that that was possible. Now I know it was false hope. I have already suffered broken ribs, broken vertebrae...I know it's only a matter of time before something more serious happens. Even when "the owner" gave me the Development Manager's number, how could I call if I'm never left alone And when I reached out to get help, to see if there was an email I could get in touch with, I was told to do this, that, and the other - all impossible when you are never left alone. None of the options were really options for me. It's HIS house. It's HIS car. I have nothing. I have no support - family or friends here. How come there is so much help for all of these other women and not for me? I feel like I'm garbage to TESSA because it's just me. I don't feel important enough to help. I just need help but that seems impossible. PLEASE don't advertise to help if the help isn't for everyone.
