Beautiful location. The room was modest but cozy, and the retreat has everything you would need all in one spot. I was almost tempted to not even leave the property during my stay. The restaurant and bar was very nice. I was served by Richard who was incredibly kind and also pretty funny. I also met the lovely maintenance man and his wife in the bar and had a great evening chatting with them. Everything was awesome, the front desk staff was very helpful and communicative, checking in and out was all done through text, and I had a great time. I will definitely be coming here several times a year for a solo getaway.

We really had a great time and we were surprised at how nice the property was! It was sort of a last minute booking to get out of town. Such a nice place to spend two nights. The girl at the front desk was kind and friendly.

My kids really loved the amenities, including the rec room where we played air hockey, pool, and pickleball that we could borrow items from the front desk. The grounds are really nice and well kept. We stayed in a two queen room on the second floor of the yellow building. It was updated and very nice. It was really quiet and felt remote, even though it was just a short drive to town. We loved to see the stars at night!

It was dog friendly, that's how I found it. And the town is extremely dog friendly. Everything was just a 5-minute drive from the property, including the Nature Center, a nature walk, and the town. Will be back with family and friends! See the pool as amazing in the summer.

This place is awesome. We were originally looking at places at Palm Springs for a mini get away but instead found this place during our search. We loved that this place is pet friendly and had a restaurant. When we arrived to the property, we were blown away by the room/cabin space, fire pits, vibe of tranquility, and extra perks Tahquitz had to offer.
Rachel at the front desk was so sweet and extremely helpful when we asked her about recommendations in town.
To top it all off, the restaurant was top notch.
We loved it all and can’t wait to come back.

Thanks for making our anniversary mini vacation a memorable one. 🙂

Great place to stay! Great value and a great room. Location was about 5 minutes from town. I love that the resort will text you the day of to give you instructions for check in. You were able to text them throughout your whole stay if you had any concerns. It’s a very quiet retreat space. Room was clean, and tidy. But shower was very small. For reference I’m 5”2 and had to duck to get under the water. But for the price I will absolutely be back. I had a blast!!!!

Stayed here for one night to take a breather and get out of town. The King cabin we were in was spacious and clean. It was great for our family of five… our two boys slept in the fold out bed and our two year old slept with us in the king bed. Overall, the room was tidy and clean. There was a random antique (remake?) toy airplane in the corner of the room (as seen in some website photos) that our kids just adored. The patio was relaxing and quite private. The bathroom felt updated and was clean/nice. The surroundings were beautiful.||For some reason, I just didn’t sleep that well… I think we turned the thermostat too high so maybe that was it. But there were also some odd clicking noises coming from the fridge/microwave/kitchenette area.||The restaurant was good with cute Halloween decorations and the grounds looked like there was more to offer than we were able to explore in a one night stay. I believe water was expensive at the front check-in area. ||It’s definitely a good place to stay if you have a big group or family. I would stay again.. even though I felt like something was missing (maybe a rug?)…

This place has everything and was a prime location for all of my daily excursions. Close to Humber Park and many great hiking trails and close to town and all that it offers. They have something for everyone and every size. Great for families/kid friendly, couples, friends, large groups, and even solo like me. Nice large pool and deck area, and tons of other on-site facilities for outdoor/indoor activities. The on-site restaurant/bar is definitely convenient with good food. My cottage was perfect for me with lots of nice amenities. Will definitely be back. ||PS. The only concern is for anyone who has difficulty walking around, they may find the property hilly and spread out a little. Not easy to get around if physically restricted, unless you drive.

We booked a one night stay here and had an early check in ready for us at 1:22 p.m which was amazing! Love that they send a text for these details and check out process via text was seamless.

Upon check in, like many other reviews I've read prior to booking, the staff did fall short. I went in with zero expectations as to how the staffs behavior would be so I can get a first hand experience for myself. With that being said, the check in process was more transactional than welcoming. My family and I got zero knowledge of the amenities or anything else the property has to offer. We had to navigate it all on our own. It was more like, here's your room, bye.

We get to our room and it was clean and tidy. Heater was on and it was a fairly warm day so we adjusted the thermostat to cool. There was leftover food in the microwave from previous guest that the cleaners missed.

Throughout our sleep, the heater would turn back on, multiple times even after setting it to cool. It happened during the day and led into the night. Not comfortable waking up to super hot heat throughout the night.

We were also woken up to car alarms throughout night. Multiple times. I spoke to the guests in the room beside us, and same goes for them. The alarms were unpleasant. Which we understand is out of the property's control.

As far as amenities goes, the rec room was pretty filthy. Broken dart pieces scattered all throughout the floor, trash on floor, board games were mixed up and unorganized. Everything else aside from the rec room were fantastic. The property grounds are gorgeous. We did not get to try The Peaks Restaurant. We had breakfast elsewhere at Mamas Egg House since The Peaks Restaurant does not serve breakfast. Also the Outpost Cafe? We couldn't locate on the property.

We typically book an airbnb when in Idyllwild and wanted give Tahquitz Pines Retreat a shot.

Everything started well until the mice came scurrying in the evening. We fought the good fight but the mice won and we straight up left in the middle of the night. We noticed the sheets were not clean either. Great area, maybe other cabins are cleaner but would not recommend cabin 40.
