For 22 years, I have been a proud member of the Fort Wayne Astronomical Society, a wonderful non-profit organization. StarQuest Observatory, operated by FWAS members of all skill levels, exemplifies the volunteer spirit and shared passion for astronomy in our community. Free stargazing is offered on clear Saturday nights, April through November. The observatory houses three large telescopes and is a truly remarkable facility. It's open to everyone regardless of experience and so is membership to FWAS. It is a source of community pride and fosters the pursuit of astronomical sciences.

A good size crowd tonite 7/6, 2 of 3 scopes manned to look through inside the bldg, a few smaller scopes outside to enjoy. Some minor focusing needed to see crisp star images. Not all eyes are the same. Always a treat to see the heavens when it’s clear.

I know I shouldn't leave a review snice I'm a volunteer there buttttt I love the obsevertory it's a really cool place I learn Everytime I go to the family's thinking to come the place is perfect everyone is super friendly and accepting of mental disabilities like autism ADHD and others the place is wheel chair assble theirs 4 different telescopes and its completely free to go besides drive I there but i love it Everytime I go it's a place where I can talk about my hyper fixation to others or just to talk oh God I just realized i wrote a phase whoops oh well but 10/10 i would recommend this place to others <3 C:

This place is pretty cool. The staff/volunteers are wonderful. The telescopes are powerful. All visitors waited patiently for their viewing turn. Bring a cash donation when you come please.

Bring a blanket or chairs for viewing on the lawn around the observatory.
