There ought to have been no long-term deliberation over whether or not women can hold the position of elder/pastor/overseer/shepherd. Nothing to wrestle with. The Bible makes it plenty clear that spiritual leadership of church and home is for men, and men alone. 1 Timothy 3:2 states that an elder must be the husband of one wife. There's no way around this obviously meaning an elder is a man, along with the rest of Scripture which confirms that only men are to maintain spiritual leadership roles over men and women. It's throughout the entirety of the Bible.

Your church's decision to rationalize and use mental gymnastics to justify something that, without a doubt, goes against the Bible, shows prioritizing appeasing the world, not God. The Holy Spirit will not be the One confirming a woman as elder for your (or any) church, as He will not confirm something that goes against God's Word. You'll be confirming it from yourselves, not God.

Whenever I visit Colorado, I won't be attending your services again.

The praise singing makes me cry every time. The musicians are amazing and Aaron has an extra special gift of connecting people through music.

If you’re looking for a community of people who want real relationships and to serve God in the community, this is the place and these are the people.
The worship team is excellent. They play a great mix of traditional hymns and contemporary styles. It’s seamless in a laid-back dimmed lights atmosphere.

Such a sincere and genuine body of believers! Worship is great (combo of older and newer songs with focus on quality content--so refreshing), staff and congregation are warm and welcoming, and Jesus is absolutely at the heart of everything, even during a pastoral transition. Sermons are scripture-based, and pastors are not afraid to address tough questions. My family has been attending for about 2.5 years and continue to learn and get connected. Highly recommend.

South Fellowship Church is wonderful! Not only are the teachings relevant and biblically-based, but the church does so much for the surrounding community! From a weekly food bank, to an early learning center this place is somewhere families can feel the love of Christ everyday. The Pastor and staff are all amazing and always willing to listen and help. This place is a huge blessing in my life!
