I would give it 5 stars 2 months ago. So much quality food. The afternoon shift staff is always unbelievably kind and patient. They practically insist to help you carry your food out. The selection of food is amazing. Very quality. It's like night and day from other city's food banks I've been to. 5 star all the way! But I'm writing this review to bring attention to their new "only by appointment" monthly for box. When I went last week I couldn't get my food box because I hadn't made an appointment. I didn't know I had to. This is something new. They didn't have any for the evening and asked if I could come back next week. What time did I want my appointment next week? I didn't know if id be able to come back and didn't want to miss an appointment so I didn't make one. They told me they started doing it this way because it was too hectic before. I've been going there for about 8 years now and I can say that iit could probably only be considered hectic in the city of Sedona. PM staff is always so helpful, patient and kind. I get anxiety but am not nervous to go because of the way the PM staff treats everyone so well. A few years back the AM staff practically accused me of an extra item when I switched one out. They checked my bag (I didn't steal of course) and embarrassed me and made me feel so small. You can't even call in to make an appointment. You either have to make one a week before or go online. A lot of people that need this service are living day to day and can't commit to appointments. They may have trouble using a computer or getting to a library to use one. Please consider your clients and go back to the old way you did it.

My friends who have volunteered here tell me the people who work here take all the good food for themselves and throw out the moldy trash for the attendees. This makes sense, as they have a very food-aggressive, condescending and mean spirited attitude very unbecoming of a church staff. I had several interactions with the staff here where I left feeling hurt and abused until the time they did me a favor and called the police on me for asking for extra avocados when I was the last customer of the day and there collecting food for a family of 8. They trespassed me with no interest in a peaceful discussion and I feel much better off not having their toxic influence in my food and life, especially since discovering the much better New Hope Ministry Food Bank in Cottonwood, where you can tell they really care and have passion for what is preached there.

This experience was absolutely great. Nice people handling of possibly difficult part of day-to-day business in this world. Sure I'm grateful that some people are compassionate in our world.

I don't know what happened here but there was a decent amount of produce and other items to choose from. And over the past year it's been like scraping the bottom of the barrel, with moldy bread given out and half rotten and tore up produce. The take home boxes also were bigger and more varieties of food in them. For the most part the staff is pretty amazing however when signing up my kids for the toys for tots my youngest daughter was denied because I haven't been able to prove residency. She's 6 and doesn't receive mail. And when it's clear that she's my other 2 kids sister I feel like at least for the toys for tots she should have been able to sign up. But I guess beggars can't be choosers right.?

Nobody likes having to go get help at the food bank. As an LGBT I was concerned the first time I came here because it's a seventh day adventist church. I was pleasantly surprised at how friendly ND non-judgmental they are. Because it's the Sedona food bank they get a lot of donations from whole foods and natural grocers so the selection is amazing. If you have to go to the food bank and love in the community they serve go here. They really are an amazing group of people
