New drivers wouldn’t recommend. Door number 5 & 6 horrible parking. Very very difficult to park. Good luck. There a fence/wall that blocks you from backing in. Would recommend doing a L parking. However they do unload you in 40 mins; no problem.

Second Harvest Food Bank is a wonderful place to volunteer your time. They offer families in need with food that they receive from the community. All proceeds go back into the community. Please volunteer if you have time, this a great cause.

I was at the recent luncheon. I contributed a fat (to me) check. I feel that I, and other contributors, should not have had to "sit in the back of the bus", so to speak. So far back from the dais, that I couldn't hear or see what was going on. So, I left early.

I was a little late to get any food, but the people were very nice and explained when you come back. The directions on Google maps led us straight to the place. Only problem is I'm a permanently disabled man and on dialysis 4 days a week 4 hrs a session and getting a ride there needs planning. Hope to get back sooner than later
God Bless Everyone...

much volunteer opportunities, unless you like to work in the fields or looking for bad produce.. also while part of their job is to get more food distributions, they poorly support their partner distributions, resulting in lots of food waste. Also , they will close a food distribution claiming the food distribution failed, while 2nd harvest actually was the one providing poor support. A public big example of a failure on 2nd harvest was the closure of ALL of Saddleback Church food distribution sites and how poorly 2nd Harvest handled it causing burdens on other distribution sites with increased workloads - WITHOUT being properly told what happened ahead of time. Also 2nd Harvest appears to be intolerant of employees making mistakes on the job. I was told 2 drivers were terminated the first time they hit something when backing up. Their employees are not typically professional drivers. That is what insurance is for. I was told 2nd Harvest had difficulty hiring people to replace them. I am also curious if all the wasted money spent on constant art type projects inside their building is it an art studio or a food bank hub? Are there constant tours given to show off the art? Couldn't the money be better spent on clients or partners? The warehouse had lots of wasted space, so maybe instead of food art was chosen to show how they help people? I did notice at least one review from overworked and underpaid staff. The money for artwork had to come from somewhere even if donated. Being nonprofit tax classification is no excuse to underpay employees!

Great place to volunteer! I was looking for something I could do to volunteer my time and I was glad I chose this place. The staff is very friendly and helpful to new comers. I helped bag potatoes and onions. The times are about 3 hours but took us slightly less time. I want to come back again but they are booked up months in advance, so register online early!
