I go to the food pantry when I'm in need and short on cash. This is the main location and they have everything really organized. I have to salute those people because it takes a lot of doing to get this organized the way they do. And if you attend one of their pantries, you must enter through lot number three.

To be able to do service for others is just so sweet! Being able to come to such a fun environment and fill bags of food or pack things up is such a great feeling and I'm so glad that there is a place here in San Antonio that I'm able to visit often! Staff is always very friendly!

I went to pickup this morning & the whole thing went pretty well apart from the worker who was acting like HE OWNED the food being handed out. I 100% understand about having a appointment but when you say shit like "well I guess I can let go through this time" its very off putting especially when you see cases of food in the background. Be sure to check everything as much as I appreciate the help some of the produce was obviously rotten.

They rely on donations to stay in operation. They have over $60 million in assets while they pay and treat their employees like trash. A case worker makes $40k before taxes while Eric Cooper, the President & CEO, pays himself over $420k a year. The other executives also make 6 figure salaries. All this while the grunt work is done by volunteers. Everything is public on their website, just search ‘San Antonio food bank 990’.

There are much more deserving charities in San Antonio.

We were just yelled at and humiliated by the boss named Travis because we didn't have an appointment. I get it, you make an appointment but when me and my elderly compadre drove by we saw they were distributing food so we drove up. The lady said we needed an appointment but will let us go through this time. As we were ready to go through the line a man named Travis questioned us about an appointment. I explained we didn't have one but the lady said we can go through. He started yelling at us real loud. Said you have to turn around and walk up to the building and get an registered. I said we are registered but the lady up front said she would let us go through this time without an appointment. He kept yelling "what lady" I explained again and he said go through, then told another guy "don't give them food" so we basically had to drive through and the workers were confused...and they looked mad like "why not" I was telling them all "their boss Travis said so" I get it, you need an appointment but Travis had no right to yell at two elderly disabled ladies. I reported it.

The donated food is very much appreciated especially when you’re going through a hard time. I know the people directing traffic are volunteers. They just need to be a little bit better organized , people cut in line all the time. It’s a bit frustrating since been waiting for an hour in line.
