Span has been extremely helpful, and the whole staff has been so great to me and my children. Haven’t had one issue with staff. You’re going to be in a house full of people dealing with trauma so avoid people, and get things done if you plan on staying here. (Stay is six weeks.) The staff found housing, supplies, and furniture for my place in the time being there. Nicolette, Amber, MojoJojo, Michael, Sam, Carrie, Liz, Holly, and our favorite kitchen manager Annika have made us feel so important. We were treated so welcoming by the staff, nearly like family. We ended up getting lucky with the group We’ve met some incredible people, you’re going to run into all kinds of traumatized people but I’m extremely happy for the experience I’ve had and all the amazing people we’ve met.

BEWARE! Tthe last thing you need is to be lied to by the organization that promises you support in your time of need. Ladies, SPAN reminds you that all you’ve got is yourself to pick yourself back up, cuz’ they will treat you like your abuser does at SPAN! Watch channel 7 news Investigates upcoming segment to see what they do to victims that reach out for help! It’s disgusting!

Emma mismanaged grant monies. She told me I’d be awarded a grant to help with my legal costs, asked me for information I provided, and then never responded. She “didn’t see the email” and the money has been allocated to others instead. I wasn’t even informed that the deadline was approaching, nor did she ever follow up with me to break the news that she lied.

As a donor, how does your money get awarded to one person and then given to another? I wouldn’t give this center a dime of my money if you want it to go to the people it’s intended for! Donate to another organization! There are others that really help people and don’t just dismiss them and leave them hanging in their time of need!

When I needed help the most these amazing people jumped right in. Emma with SPAN quickly dropped everything and met me to do a restraining order. She sat through the entire process with me. After she helped get me rolling with even more services. If you ever find yourself in an unsafe situation don't hesitate to call these amazing people.

SPAN and the Boulder safe house were a blessing to me. I was in danger and did not know where I was going to stay. The staff was supportive of me and my situation and made me fell safe. With their help, I found refuge and found a long term program with the treatment and therapy I need. If it wasn't for SPAN, I don't know where I would be today. Thank you.

Safehouse was the winner of the prestigious 2015 BBB Non-profit Torch award, and for good reason. This is the place to go if you are even feeling like you are getting yourself in a corner. Whether you are experiencing name-calling, financial abuse, isolation, projection, use of the children as leverage against you, minimizing and blaming, physical, or sexual abuse, this is the best place to go in the Boulder area. Meetings are safe and confidential and they can prepare you with what you need to know to get out of your situation.

The idea of this place is great.
But the toxicity of the people that live here make it hard to focus on our goals. We only get six weeks, and most of us end up exactly where we started.
Don’t make friends, get a job, Stick to yourself and Leave once you find a place to live.

Someone needs to thoroughly investigate every dime given to this organization for fidelity! If you donate here, be aware that they don’t spend your donations as they state! A simple investigation would illustrate mismanagement of funding!
