I called Ruby's Place, and the young woman that answered the phone was extremely rude, her name is Mikaya. She had the worst attitude and was not helpful at all. I was trying to help give back by dropping off donations but she told me they're no longer taking donations. I don't understand why they would even have such an unprofessional rude individual answer the phones. She had horrible communication skills, she was NOT kind at all.

I have not had experience staying in the shelter, but I received trauma therapy through Rubys place. My therapist is helping me rebuild my self esteem and my faith that there are good people in the world. I can tell he genuinely cares about the wellbeing of his clients. Thank you Rubys Place for providing meaningful counseling services the the community!

My 3yr old son was a punching bag the Lil time (7 days) we were there. Little kids throwing up gang signs. I was lied on and said I threatened a lady there when I wouldn't jeopardize where my kids lay there heads at night. When I finally spoke up, I was exited. My abuser is still out there and I'm very disappointed that they (Ruby's place coordinator) already had made up their minds to exit myself and my kids and did not hear my side of what happened. The lady that accused me of threatening her didn't speak nor understand NO ENGLISH so let's say for instance, if I did threaten her how would she have had understood me? anyways my lawyers will be contacting you shortly. Not only did Ruby's Place put myself and my kids in danger they are also racist and only help their Spanish people. I wish I could give Ruby's Place 0 ⭐ but Google won't let me. Me and kids are sleeping in the park and we apologize that we are not Spanish. Might I add that this place treats you as if you're a prisoner of the state. They check to make sure you're in bed at night flashing their flashlights in the middle of the night, and it triggers your mind as to if you're still in a abusive relationship. They keep you locked in the premises and u have to say gate so they could open the gate before you leave, and their excuse is "it's for your safety" yeah right, they get payed for us victims to be there and they take control of your life. SHAME on THEM!!!!!!
