Nice to see the Chesapeake HOA/RowCal
Management "working as hard as ever" to keep the community clean. Why am I (along with hundreds of others) supposed to pay you $345/mo in fees? For this? This is what you call a "beautiful community"?
Give me a break 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Giving this horrible company one star is too generous of a rating! If you are looking for a company that will run your property into the ground, look no further! This company has no clue how to manage property, the staff is incompetent, rude and non-responsive! We had two different staff members managing our condo building, Peter Leon and Brenda Vanderlip both took weeks to respond to emails if they did respond. If they did respond they were rude, unhelpful, and had no insight on the issues at our condo building. Don't walk away from RUN!!!

Edit: It's a fun game to copy and paste this company's responses to negative reviews into ZeroGPT (AI detector). Try it out!
I seem to have gotten the rare human-written reply. 3/10 response. I award 3 points for the brazen implication that I'm insane for being upset (would have awarded more if they were brave enough to do it without being passive-aggressive).

I think this management company is a fantastic example of what happens when you prioritize bureaucracy over humanity. I had high hopes for RowCal at the beginning, but like the proverbial beer pong table that's been bodyslammed one too many times, I have well and truly reached my breaking point.

I truly believe that, if this company could charge you for breathing, they would.

If they could charge you for calling their emergency number when you have an emergency, they would--oh wait!
That'll be $95, actually. And good luck getting through to someone. I actually had to pay $95 for leaving a voicemail on an emergency line whilst actively thinking I was about to lose my house to flooding, which was such a fascinating experience that I truly cannot put it into words!

"Now, hold on, you pampered princess," You might be thinking. "Do they at least mow the grass and shovel snow from the sidewalks?" Oh, of course! It's their saving grace. And probably the only thing keeping them from getting sued.

But do they (as per contract) ensure the water bills are paid, thus preventing the government from taping WATER SHUTOFF NOTICES TO EVERYONE'S DOORS, THREE SEPARATE TIMES IN TWO YEARS? How silly. What kind of an idiot would expect their property management company to manage its property? Dunce.

If you enjoy feeling like a dog in a cage that gets poked with an electric cattle prod when you try to escape, this is the kind of relaxation and peacefulness you can expect from contracting this so-called HOA management company.

Huh, "contracting." Like a contagious disease. That's pretty funny.

But that's just home ownership for ya! 🙂

I have only had wonderful experiences working with RowCal as our HOA management company. The communications provided by them are detailed and very informative. I always feel like I know what is going on in my community! In addition, the RowCal website is user friendly and full of helpful information. Paying our HOA dues or getting questions answered online is super simple and swift.

I would give no stars if possible. This company is completely inept with no ability to guide an HOA or care for a building. Basic communication and a knowledgable staff does not exist here. They struggle to find any appropriate contractor and only recommend overpriced people who do lackluster work. They do not react or respond during a true maintenance emergency. Please do not get yourself in the terrible situation of working with Rowcal like our HOA did.

This is by far the saddest excuse for a homeowners management company. Our HOA manager is outright incompetent and incapable of preparation for meetings, respond to emails, work orders and has significantly impacted the quality of our building. I would never recommend this company to anyone unless they wanted to actively witness the crumbling of their community.

I was very impressed with the RowCal employee who joined our HOA meeting recently. (sorry but I forget his name) He knew the rules, did what needed to be done and showed genuine concern for our HOA. it made me feel better about having an HOA, because RowCal was going to be paying attention to what goes on within this hOA and making sure guidelines are being followed.

RowCal? Well the good News is that they only lasted here for a year, which means that everything they promised to be compete this year won't be, and everything promised for Next Year, or Next Spring, or Next Whatever won't be completed either. They did manage to increase our HOA fees another $30 per month covering everything they didn't complete. There also seems to be a little bit of a stop gap in communication and completing assignments with these folks except for the cash flow. Good luck.
