The Ronald McDonald House charity is always something I’ve heard of, but I couldn’t truly appreciate it until I was in Houston with my little brother in the hospital for heart failure and not knowing when we would be going home. It’s a hard time living so far from home, in such a large city where I knew nobody. Ronald McDonald house was such a blessing to come home to each day. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was better than mine at home and I didn’t have to worry about having dirty clothes. I so appreciate the opportunity to stay here and be treated so well by the staff. Kay made me feel right at home and so seen in one of the hardest times of my life so far. Thank you all for making a difference for so many in those times.
Being here through the holidays was rough enough, but Santa didn’t forget where we were. We even had a lovely new years basket to celebrate. It was a great feeling to go home but i’Ll always be grateful for my stay here.

We are so happy to be able to live here so we can be close to our baby while she's in the NICU. The people here have been amazing. They serve free food almost every day. The kids got gifts given to them for Christmas. They let me use their Medela machine. They have everything here you need for a home away from home. It's just a great place.

Really great charity, and this facility was very nice. Tons of stuff to do for the kids, and they have all sorts of activities and food events for the residents.
It's also super convenient to get to Texas Children's right down the street.

I had to stay as an emergency, and then had to leave emergent early due to my daughter having to be re admitted I was very distressed and wasn’t thinking. I accidentally left trash in the room ONLY 2 bags of trash (small bags). I was already told about it once the man very kind and he was the one who helped me check out when I was crying my eyes out. I got a phone call because I was going to check back in when my daughter was discharged from a very hateful women. She told me I left the room a MESS and she wasn’t going to pick up after me again. I don’t feel welcomed there. So sad.

I can't say enough amazing things about this place. They were my home away from home while I recovered from a c-section and my daughter was in the NICU (she later passed but that's neither here nor there). They set us up with a counselor to get us talking to someone immediately. They take care of the families that are all there for medical reasons with hot meals/ family space. They have designated spaces for families to put food in fridges and pantry areas. They have a "suggested" price to pay but only if you can - and even when I handed them my card info because, despite leaving with such a bad outcome, I could afford it, they insisted I didn't need to pay (and I still insisted that I did because I COULD afford it and it was only right). Any time i go to McDonald's now, I ALWAYS round up my total to go to Ronald McDonald house charities. If I'm back in Houston for a trip, I try to stop by with donations. They do amazing things for people going through really difficult times.
