If you're looking to "pay" for promotions, this is not the place for you. If you want your child to become disciplined and truly learn a martial art, look no further than Rocklin Judo. We consider ourselves incredily lucky to have Rocklin Judo available for our 15y/o son. He has been a student at Rocklin Judo for 2 years now, and we could not be happier with his progress, the training provided, and the guidance from his teachers. The intructors are truly invested, not only in the martial training of their students, but also in their growth, maturity, and their health & safety. The Senseis, starting with Coach Shane, truly excel as teachers and mentors. There are so many schools that just hand out belts for monetary fees in the area, but at Rocklin Judo, those belts are earned. It's a great family environment, and a much better value than most other schools in the area.

We've been coming here for 6 years now. My son has gone from an average judo player to a national champion and was invited to compete on Team USA representing the USA at the PanAm games.
Their instruction is excellent and they have their student's best interest at heart. It's a family atmosphere with highly qualified instructors. Building character is as important as technique at this school. I highly recommend this school for those who are looking for practical and traditional teaching through structure and mutual respect for their kids.

I've been attending classes for just over 1 year and I can sincerely say without doubt this is the most structured and comprehensive martial arts class I've been a part of. I've been practicing various martial arts for nearly 25 years. The kids receive excellent instruction and attention from senior staff just like the adults. The atmosphere is relaxed yet still respectful. The Judo is excellent, focusing on technique and efficiency with a high emphasis in safety. If you are seasoned practitioner or new to the martial arts world, you will benefit from the skills you learn at this club.

Wonderful - Kind, smart, organized - teaching respect, strength, and personal growth!
So, my teen son was invited to join a friend at Rocklin Judo on an open night. Okay, so I forced him to go, and he isn't planning on going back, but I was SO impressed by what I saw there, I wanted to share. First a big thank you to Sensei Ted for taking so much time with my son. What I saw while I watched were coaches who were organized and thoughtful in their teaching, this is obviously a labor of love for them. I saw them teaching their students how to be strong, successful in their sport, respectful, and kind and helpful. My son was helped by numerous of the less experienced students, and we all know that you learn by teaching back. The whole experience is calm and quiet, the students are given one on one time with the sensei, and are also given time with each other to practice and help each other. It is a wonderful gift that these coaches are giving to the next generation.

My son started attending their classes 3.5 years ago, and my daughter also joined last year. Both of them love the classes, the Senseis, and their classmates. They have learned excellent technique, gained self-confidence, and continue to be challenged to make themselves into better athletes. It's a close knit group where you know your teachers and peers are there to always support you.

As a beginner (M25) with no prior martial arts experience, I was welcomed from day one. A dojo is only as good as it's instruction. A month in, it's apparent that senseis Todd, Shane, and Ted offer a rare breadth and depth of judo / BJJ knowledge that would be difficult to find elsewhere. So far, from striking to takedowns to grappling, the elements taught are part of the whole package!

They volunteer their time to foster this sound, technique-based community, one that is even worth commuting to (as some instructors and students do). Instruction meets you at your skill level and grows with you. Great opportunities for competition, as well as the practical self-defense side of the arts.
