Roar a small church filled with genuine people. The pastors are on fire and approachable. The worship is like a lively lit concert and the word is collegiate level teaching. Be prepared for both. You can trust to ask anyone on staff for prayer or biblical advice. Everything the pastors do is intentional and biblically based. Do not expect the pastors to conform to the culture to appease you.. they are honest Godly people. They pour into the children and lead them straight to Jesus. The church is well rounded, creating space for physical fitness, men and women’s ministry and lots of groups to connect deeper. Most importantly the church stretch’s beyond the four walls. The members of the church are the same kind Godly people Friday night as they are Sunday morning.

A very welcoming, loving, and faith filled church. Pastor Anthony and Britney Shepherd, are on fire for the Lord! Pastor Anthony Shepherd, speaks with a great amount of enthusiasm and passion for our Lord. You can feel the Holy Spirit at every service and it is truly a beautiful experience. I attended a different church for many years, but I am excited to be part of this new church! I believe that God has brought me here. I encourage anyone looking for a new and exciting church to give Roar Church a try!

I attended ROAR this past Sunday (NYE 2023) and had an amazing experience! The message was "Turn Down the Noise and Turn up the Worship" after a year plus of looking for a church home, I believe that I found it! Thanks to the staff for being welcoming, the message wasn't that of a prosperity preacher and was biblically sound!

I attended this church looking for something new and exciting. The greeters were very friendly and made me feel at home. When I go in I was ushered into the middle of the 3rd or 4th row. The worship music started playing and my gosh its probably the loudest thing I've heard for a long time. Think of a being at a concert but standing right in front of the speaker. It was painful for my ears and literally felt the music in my chest but still enjoyed singing along to the worship songs. As soon as the worship ended, they went into some sort of declaration speech and made us recite it about giving to the church and how we will be rewarded only if we gave. I agree giving is a big part of being a Christian, but man did this rub me the wrong way. I get it the church needs money to stay running but this just felt so out there compared to smaller churches I've been to in the past. Something about the preaching just felt so disingenuous as well. The pastor really got into it but just seemed like a big act and more of a production then an actual sermon. The whole service lasted about a hour and 40 minutes and was just too long for me personally. I had no idea this was a Pentecostal church and not sure how these services usually go but if you are a new Christian or just checking out different churches I highly suggest looking elsewhere as this experience is sure to turn you off from the faith. Sorry for my honest opinion but this whole experience felt cultish and not genuine whatsoever. I know it’s a small church, but I honestly believe they are mostly in it for the money and not fully there to spread the gospel.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS CHURCH!!!!! or should I say BUSINESS. This is the furthest thing from a genuine church. I never thought I'd encounter a church like this but was I wrong. One of the pastors literally told everyone UNDER 18 to bring out their phone and donate an amount that he set...then he said for the adults to donate 25 50 or 100 dollars on top of whatever else you tithe. How about saying hey here's our donation page if you'd like to donate please do instead of guilt tripping people into it...The worst part is that after giving this whole talk about being generous they still charge people for coffee etc after the service. This is a cult and the furthest thing from what a church should be. Taking advantage of people in many ways. Their website clearly says non-donominational but this is definitely pentecostal. Can't even tell if the pastor truly believes what he is saying because he is too focused on trying to mimic Steven Furtick. I will never come back here..

I’m going to be honest, I didn’t have a great experience here. I wanted so badly to love roar and call this my church home but it just wasn’t the best experience. First before even attending church we tried to watch a recent sermon on YouTube and the only one that we could find was from New Years and only music no sermon. My husband and I are early 30s and good with technology so it’s just not well updated. Even after the online debacle I said no let’s go try in person. The music they played was awesome but it was WAY TOO LOUD. Like, I go to metal concerts and it was louder than that. We had to move from our seats in the front to near the back because our ears were ringing. If you are super young and want a loud concert feel this is the place for you but for everyone else- it’s a no. Again I was not able to hear the sermon because within five minutes of dropping our daughter off in jr cubs they paged us to come get her and try again next time. The women at the front were very kind and after she calmed down they did say she could try again but it just wasn’t working out. Also we’ve gone to numerous churches in Camarillo and they all have free coffee and some even really nice donuts and at roar it is 3 dollars for a cup of coffee. It just rubbed me as kind of disingenuous..here we are preaching generosity but we the church aren’t being generous ourselves. Lastly they had a bunch of rows blocked off in the auditorium and it forced everyone to be super crowded and my theory is they did this because they take videos for social media and want it to seem like a packed concert venue. I understand the importance of social media to try and prompt attendance but when we worry more about the appearance of things it’s just not authentic. If you are a very young person this might be a good place for you but for everyone else unfortunately I suggest looking elsewhere. ? the greeters were very nice though.
