I would give zero stars if I was able to. I went to this facility last year. I had an appointment with someone that I made a month prior with her and when I arrived after we drove for over two hours to meet her, they told me that she was not in that day. I said to them that they needed to find me someone else to speak with. I had come a long way, and I never received a call that the person I was scheduled to see, canceled. They had me speak with Leon Cain to ask for help with housing in Sacramento. He gave me three places to call, and he followed up with me the next day and I told him that all of those so-called leads were no good and I gave him the reasons why. I never heard from him again. I called there several times only for the person on the other line to tell me he is busy and that he will call me back. He never did! This place should be investigated it does not help disabled people at all. They could care less if you have a home or not. They claim to be a resource for independent living, but in order to do that you need to be a RESOURCE to help people find places and other viable resources so that the disabled community may indeed live independently. Our senior group in Davis recently enjoyed a presentation on 'Disaster Preparedness' by Hans Greenawalt and Angie Guerrero of 'Resources for Independent Living'. It was very informative. We also each received an excellent 'Disaster Preparedness Emergency Kit’, filled with nearly everything required for an emergency situation. This impressive organization is a a real asset to our community. Long may they live and prosper.
