Recommended to us by our lawyer as part of our estate planning process, this organization has been in existence for decades and manages/disperses millions of dollars of charitable funds for living and non-living donors, as well as corporate entities. Although much of what they do is focused on Rock Island County and Scott County charitable organizations, they will assist in fulfilling your wishes no matter the location.

They will work with you to ensure that your charitable wishes are carried out, and they are knowledgeable about how to maximize the benefits to those charities over time. They can point out areas that you may want to discuss with your accountant, or other professional, so that taxes might be less and more money will therefore end up in the hands of your chosen charities ( such as direct rollovers of Traditional IRA funds to a non-profit charity ).

They can make it easy for you to support specific organizations of your choice (located anywhere in the country) or for your general areas of interest. I was amazed at the huge varieties of options available, and how every contingency seems to be covered ( for example, if a specific charity you name ceases to exist sometime in the future they will find a similar one that will match up with your original wishes).

Their website barely touches the surface of what they can do. Definitely schedule a meeting with them to learn about all the amazing things they are involved with, and how you can make a difference now and long into the future.

They charge a very small annual percentage fee that only goes into effect once they actually begin controlling the funds ( in our case it will likely be after we die and a portion of our estate is then left under their control). Until then our specific wishes can easily be changed as often as we want, or cancelled altogether should we desire. And we can even use them as a conduit for charitable donations while we are alive if we want to set up a special fund for that purpose.

It's a weight off our shoulders to know that some simple paper work placed on file now with them and our lawyer can result in a lasting legacy and in smooth sailing for the executor of our estate in the future.
