Could find a better functioning staff at a fckin chuck e cheese. Problems with online classes absolutely avoided. Admin is absolutely no help and can barely answer a phone call. Instructors are not held to any type of standard. Online class layouts are trash - not one is alike and some have outdated material or broken content links. Student portal often not accessible due to authorization errors. I could go on with how much this place absolutely sucks but just read the rest of the 1 star reviews - there are plenty.

Instructors like to play "gotcha" games during classes, discouraging students from attending. It's strange seeing college professors feel good about knowing very specific things more than high schoolers.

There's a ton of online homework crap used here like Pearson and McGraw, which are notorious for being counter-intuitive to actual learning. Some don't even talk to D2L so you don't even know if you have homework sometimes. Some instructors grade things before the due date, giving 0s and moving on. What?

The science department is a mess and the administration apparently refuses to do anything to help out. The courses don't make sense.

Why does this school exist again?

I recommend this school (in person) so much. Everyone's really nice and the teachers are very inspiring. Ive only had two so far so maybe thats not much to base a review off of.
Do not do online. It sucks, stay away from it.

Graduated with my certificate for portrait photography back in 2020. I truly loved the professors I had classes with, the learning experience was honestly so nice and easy going. I felt challenged and truly happy choosing this college for my academic wants. The ability to pay for each semester was very easy and honestly there were months where I was almost behind but they helped me keep my accounts in good standing so I could graduate college debt free. I honestly always recommend people looking at this school over any other schools in Colorado. It’s cool to see they changed to a state college now as well.

I was around when it was Pikes Peak Community College and my time there was pretty good aside from a professor who wanted to be strict just to be strict. I paraphrase "If you fail my class, that is on you. I don't care if you have another job, kids to take care of, or another class. Learn to triage." I definitely dropped out after a couple classes. But I digress.

Overall the campus is spacious and there are plenty of programs to choose from. PPSC is a good foundation to earn a degree or at least get an idea of what you want to do with your future. If you're between 18-25, it is a great place to learn at a fair level. Most of the professors I had were everyday people but with a passion for teaching their subject. It made each class a little more comfortable to know that, no matter what age, you are there to learn from someone with experience or have been teaching the subject for years now.

I'd recommend going to PPSC to anyone that qualifies for financial aid. You can definitely get a decent degree if you are needing one but if you are looking for higher education or a secure job in a sector that pays more than 45k a year, you'll have to go to UCCS or elsewhere.

I never noticed the safety or security of the school, they do have an active Campus Police on duty and they've been very professional, then again this was back in 2016-2018. I do admit that the Financial Aid office is a jungle, the advisors have personality. Some more than others.

Overall, if this is your sole experience for a college. Don't expect too much because it is a community college for a reason. If you do spend time here, make the most of it! Ask questions and utilize the resources they offer before you move on!

I've been to a few different colleges and I have to say that the Financial Aid, and the VA office are the most helpful I've ever seen and always expedite issues that are hindering you from paying for your courses. The VA always takes the extra time to make sure my questions are answered even if they are busy. The financial aid dept is great. I've never seen a dept. that is so easy to contact by phone to work out your issues or answer questions so that you don't need to come in. With 4 children I really appreciate that aspect. The employees in the bookstore are always extremely eager to help you find anything you need and the advisers are very helpful in setting you up for success so that you don't waste your time in the wrong courses (you need to make sure you see one who specializes in the type of degree you are seeking). No matter where you go you will have professors that you don't mesh well with. Some are excellent and some aren't, so before you register you need to ask other students or research what teacher you would like to use to match your strengths and weaknesses in a classroom setting. I've been there for 3 years and have only had a couple of professors that I didn't mesh well with which is a great ratio. The math and science dept. is exceptional. They make sure that you are given credit for courses taken at other colleges if you should be. Sometimes you won't be initially, but if you appeal to them and they look further into the curriculum at your old school they will be sure to allow you to be correctly placed in courses you have the potential of passing.

My teachers have been fine but the administration of this school is horrendous. No other school I have been to waits until after the drop date to show you all of your financial aid on your account. My entire school should have been covered, and they even said that I had a pending excess. But of course I can't actually see any of this. So now, I'm stick with an almost 500 dollar bill that they claimed didn't exist. Not to mention this school is over 3x as expensive as the last community college I went to, even after the COF. It takes days to reach anyone and the military department is worthless unless you're Army or Air Force.

Complete scam, do not waste your money here. No one knows what they are doing. Online staff and admin are absolutely dreadful. If I could give zero stars I would.
