After researching many independent living apartments for my dad, I found Parkwood Independent Living. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the apartment. The bathroom has an additional heater and plenty of hand bars to make it easy to shower. Having the ability to keep the bathroom warm makes it so more inviting because it's not cold which makes it more inviting to shower. The food has been great and provides balanced nutrition. The staff has accommodated my dad with his needs like delivering his meals. The staff, especially Mark and Kim helped me make the transition as easy and stress free as possible. Everyone has been so nice and friendly that makes it feel very much like family. The staff are very approachable and if there is an issue, they are quick to address any concerns. The apartments are very clean and modern and even come with a storage unit. There is also an assisted living place nextdoor that is run by the same people so transitioning there should be pretty easy if needed. There are activities planned on almost daily. I highly recommend this place and is the place I wouldn't mind going to when the time comes.

My mom chose this place to live for a few reasons, and they all turned out true...1) Big trees surround the 3 buildings making it shady and cool. 2) Everyone eats breakfast and lunch together in the main dining room. You see your friends and make new friends every single day. 3) There is assistance 24/7 if you need it, but if you don't there is no hovering. 4) The price was the best in the area. 5) The staff is very visible and knows you by name.

My experience with Parkwood Independent Living has been 100% positive! My sister had a fall in an parking lot that resulted in a very serious break to her leg. She could not return to her home due to the stairs she would need to climb. Needing time for recuperation we looked at Parkwood in Bedford as a temporary place to heal.
From the very first we were delighted with the lovely dining room and outstanding meals. There were so many fun activities offered each day that she could attend in her wheelchair and later her walker. At first she was not sure she would fit in with the older clientele but found everyone welcoming and eager to be a friend. Now after a year's residence she does not want to live anywhere else! We have found that the directors take a personal interest in each resident and the residence is very well managed. I heartily endorse the excellent atmosphere and care found at Parkwood Independent Living.

My mom has lived at Parkwood for 4 years and I can’t not say enough about how wonderful it has been! They have a long tenured staff who personally get to know the residents and their families which just goes to show they care. The ability to communicate with them and their willingness to assist goes beyond what you’d expect. The Parkwood facilities are very nice and well maintained. They offer a variety of daily activities on property for residents to get involved, offering social and active opportunities to their residents creating a fun and healthy environment. I feel confident my mom is safe and has been able to live her best life at Parkwood!

My father moved to Parkwood in 2021. Dad is independent but needed some support. At Parkwood my father gets rides to medical appointments. They provide residents meals. They also do daily welfare checks, which is a huge load off the he family’s concern. They have activities for the residents. The most valued feature is that he support call button where staff on site can quickly help resident. We are happy with Parkwood.

Parkwood is extraordinary. We moved my cousin from out of state last year and choosing Parkwood has been a blessing from day one. The transition was made easy by caring, helpful staff, the warm welcome from those already living there, and the continued care and concern shown daily. I feel very fortunate to have found Parkwood and my cousin feels privileged to live in such a nice place.

My Mother In Love lives at Parkwood and LOVES it. Her Mom & Dad used to live there too! It is such a great place with SO many opportunities for community for her! They offer A LOT of activities for everyone to help connect with each other. We love it for our Mom and thankful for the leadership in Mark & Kim in keeping it running so smoothly.
