During my care at Parkwood Healthcare I experienced a kind and caring staff. During my seven month stay they made sure that my room was clean and comfortable, that I had good food that was healthy and even entertainment. If I had one complaint it's that there were a couple of times that my medicine was late but if I had to choose which assisted living place to go to, it would be Parkwood Healthcare. The staff was great.

My husband recently had a brief stay at Parkwood Retirement Community. We have never in our lives experienced a more caring, professional, environment. The staff, every single person, is exceptional - kind, friendly, they treat everyone as family and no request is ignored or denied. The facility is kept extremely clean and fresh. The food is top notch, even for the picky eater. Our experience was excellent and we would wholeheartedly recommend Parkwood. Thank you Parkwood for your kindness and excellent care.

My husband fractured his pelvis and went to Parkwood for rehab. Everyone one there was amazing. The therapist are very caring and patient with everyone. My husband had the best wound care nurse. Jonathan was amazing and really helped get the wounds on the mend. I would recommend Parkwood for anyone needing a place to put their loved ones.

I want to express my gratitude and satisfaction with the exceptional care my family member received during her stay at Parkwood Healthcare. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that this facility was dedicated to providing top-notch care and a comfortable environment.

The highlight of my grandma's stay was undoubtedly the wonderful food and engaging activities organized by Lesa. Lesa's activities were thoughtfully planned and kept my grandma entertained and socially engaged.

What truly impressed me was the individualized approach to therapy. Unlike many other facilities that offer group therapy, Parkwood Healthcare provided personalized therapy sessions. This approach made a significant difference in my grandma's progress, as her specific needs and concerns were addressed with focused attention.

Overall, I can confidently say that Parkwood Healthcare exceeded my expectations. The combination of excellent care, enjoyable activities, and personalized therapy truly made my grandma's stay comfortable and enriching. I am incredibly thankful to the entire team at Parkwood Healthcare for their dedication and compassion. It's clear that they are committed to making a positive impact on their residents' lives.

Memory care is expensive, so we have to do what we can afford. If you can afford more than Parkwood, I highly recommend that you do. I felt like my mom was in a nursing home with residents just sitting around sleeping in their wheelchairs. When I asked why I hadn't seen any activities, I was told they had to put them on hold due to a Covid outbreak (3 years after the pandemic started), but they were starting up again soon. I wondered if they would have started if I hadn't asked about it? The activity person came 2 or 3 times a week for a short activity. The place my mom is now does 6 activities a day! Much of the time I was there, the caregivers sat in the la-z-boy chairs on their phone. To top it off, they lost at least half of my mother's clothes even though I labeled them as they requested. When my mother was leaving, I told them a lot of the clothes in her closet weren't hers and they told me "it was okay" and not to worry about it. In other words, they wanted me to take what was in her closet even if it didn't belong to her.

Both my mom and my step dad were at this place for rehab. My mom had open heart surgery and was transferred there from the hospital. She did great and even wanted to come back to visit the workers. Most recently my step dad was there recovering from covid. He was in bad shape requiring oxygen when he first came in. He was there for a while and was dependent on them for everything. When it was time to go home he even got emotional because he was so grateful for everything. They are now both doing well considering. I would recommend Parkwood to anyone who has a family member who needs care. They were outstanding. Thank you Parkwood!

My mom initially came to Parkwood for rehab after suffering a stroke which she recovered completely. While at Parkwood she had such a great experience that she wanted to move from her current facility to become a permanent resident. The caregivers are so compassionate and caring she immediately feel in love with them as they did with her (for example once mom had a craving for some fried chicken well her caregiver went and bought her some; plus and most importantly they know how mom likes her coffee). The staff is exemplar as well! If I ever had a concern, they were always ready to help find a resolution whether it is dental, podiatry, vision, or wound care. Bottom line, I visit my mom everyday but on the occasion I am away, I never worry about my mother’s care cause it is as good or better than if I cared for her myself! I would totally recommend Parkwood for your loved one!

I leave this review for my mom and her husband, because they are of the age that doing this themselves is beyond their capabilities. However, they wanted others to know.
My mom's husband was transferred to Parkwood roughly 3-4 days ago, needing rehab after a hospital stay following back surgery. My mom was with him the whole time. Upon arrival, they were moved into a double room. (I assume this is a Medicare thing.) The patient for the other bed arrived shortly after they had. This was very difficult due to that man's situation. Overall care was LOW! Mom's husband's initial blood pressure was checked via a wrist cuff and showed to be very low. He requested an arm cuff and upon removing the wrist cuff, found it to be cracked. Since he is on bp meds, had they recorded the initial reading, and meds had followed, it could have been very dangerous. Once they got an arm cuff and did a proper measurement, his bp was just slightly elevated (rather than too low), potentially due to the situation, granted, but it matters! The meds schedule was treated as a guideline, rather than an actual schedule. He has one med that must be taken every 3.5 hours. It was never administered that way. They refused to set an alarm (like mom does), and mom had to request the med each and every time. Additionally, whether it was a miscommunication with the hospital or what, the meds list itself was wholly incorrect. Meds that he was allergic to were on the list for Parkwood. My mom called their attention to it, gave a correct and accurate list, and was told that they could not do anything different from "what they received from the hospital". They were attempting to give AM meds in PM and vice versa. Mind you, the hospital had given ALL of his meds properly, on time, and with knowledge of his allergies/sensitivities. Mom insisted that they contact the hospital then and get it corrected, because she would not allow any meds given to him that did not coincide with her list. They were not accommodating. It didn't get better, and mom and her husband insisted on relocation (after only 24 hours). Although this sounds like mom and husband may have been unruly, I assure you that, in fact, they were just their own advocates, and that that was very unwelcome at Parkwood. I am so thankful that my mom still has the wherewithal to have a voice and stand up for herself! The health "care" of this facility is grossly lacking and unprofessional! If it could be given 0 stars, that would be their rating.
