Recently toured Parkwood Estates to try and move my mom out of Rigden Farms. Staff were very knowledgeable and the woman who gave the tour was fantastic! Building looks a little old on the outside, but the interior, the rooms, and accommodations were amazing! Will be moving Mom as soon as we are able!

Staff is always so nice to us guest and all the residents that live there. Very friendly and they are all personal. The facility is always clean as well!

I've been living at Parkwood for 5 weeks. The corporation, Atria, is the reason behind my 2-star rating. They obviously don't pay servers, kitchen help, or housekeepers a living wage because there are not enough of any of these staff. At meal times we can wait up to an hour and a half to get an entree. The rental agreement states a housekeeper will clean our room once a week, but since I have moved in no one has come to clean my room. Other residents have also complained about this. On the plus side, the food is good--made by chefs that care about the quality. And there is a shuttle bus 3 days a week to take us shopping, doctors appointments, etc.

As a concerned member of the community, I am compelled to write a bad review of this retirement home. The facility has failed miserably in providing a safe and secure environment for its residents. The most pressing issue is the high rate of staff turnover, which has left many elderly residents feeling neglected and abandoned. It seems as though the management is unable to keep their employees for more than a few months at a time, which is alarming and concerning.

To make matters worse, some employees who have been hired do not take their job seriously, and have even been observed drinking while on duty. This is not only a blatant violation of workplace policy but also endangers the residents in their care. It's horrifying to think that elderly individuals who are already vulnerable are being left in the hands of individuals who are not only neglectful but also actively putting their lives at risk.

When management is confronted about issues, they seem to brush them off or make excuses, and little to no action is taken to address them. It's evident that they don't have a clear plan or strategy in place to combat the high turnover rate or to ensure that their staff is well-trained and capable of taking care of their residents. As a result, residents are left feeling frustrated and forgotten.

The physical condition of the facility itself is also deteriorating. The rooms are dirty and poorly maintained, and there is a general sense of disorganization and chaos throughout the building. It's clear that the staff is overwhelmed and unable to keep up with the demands of the job, which is reflected in the overall atmosphere of the facility.

In summary, the retirement home is a poorly run and a dangerous facility. The high turnover rate of staff, coupled with the apparent lack of management support and training, has left residents feeling neglected and vulnerable. The fact that some employees have been observed drinking while on the job is unacceptable. I would strongly advise against entrusting the care of your loved ones to this facility, and urge management to take immediate action to improve the quality of care provided.

There is no bus driver. No housekeeping. Food is definitely not chef prepared. Not enough servers in dining room. The good caring people are leaving. There seems to be no help from corporate as they seem to be more careful about where to put a piece of paper than the needs of the residents. What does "corporate" plan to do to help Parkwood Estates. It seems like not much.

I recently visited Parkwood. I was very impressed with how clean it is, and all that they have to offer their residents. It is clear to me how much Joe the GM genuinely cares about his residents. When I saw him interacting with his residents it was clear to me that Joe goes above and beyond to make sure his residents are happy.

My grandma just got a nice little place here and it seems to be treating her well so far. She likes the activities, the offerings for transportation around town, and the people. Her little apartment is pretty neat and has everything she needs. The dining facilities are pretty nice too. Their chef does a pretty good job. The Christmas decorations have everything looking very festive and bright. Overall I think it offers senior folks a pretty great alternative to living on their own.
