I applied for assistance and power was OFF. Verifiable and provided all required info. These people take weeks to respond. They ask for document after document. All information was provided to them and the "supervisor" proceeded to take it out of the "approved" status back to pending because he or she wanted to know how I am unemployed and how my rent was paid. Mind you I am not asking for rental assistance as my rent has been paid since September through the month of December. They provide slick remarks and emails and never include a name or point of contact. They are belittling, rude, and invasive for information that is irrelevant to the application or assistance being requested. I will sit in the dark before I let anyone speak to me like that. I am a 7 time convicted felon and refuse to let this detour me back into a lifestyle that a light bill was not even noticed a I paid everyone's bill when I was UP! I will not let the devil win. And your employees are devils in sheep's clothing. I am an educated felon though. Please don't think this complaint stops here. I will be forwarding all information to the inspector generals site, the Florida governor site, and everyone in between the two. I have a strong feeling these government funds are allocated on a pick and choose who to help basis. It's all good though - remember this name cause I will never file any complaints anonymously. This is only the beginning. You guys have allowed these case workers and "supervisors" to get besides themselves. I will not let up! This will be taken to a whole different level the legal route! I will live in the dark or under a bridge before I ever ask this organization for help again.

The customer service people on the phones who take the calls are horrible. I called to ask the status of my application and the representative, Jacqueline had such an attitude . You’re dealing with people who may be homeless and she had no empathy whatsoever . It was as if my follow up call bothered her . They have no professionalism at all.

Had to go back 3 times, waiting 2 hours past my appointment to see anyone, I specifically asked on the first appointment what I was missing, which was written down, second appointment went 2 hours past my appointment finally got in to be told I had to apply for unemployment. Then come back after luch at 2:30 not seen till 4pm. and applying to unemployment same day to be told I needed something else because it was too late to get it. Appointment was made like I was to get right in in the am . Get to my appointment next day only to wait hours again.

I hate the process to apply for LIHEAP. I went to the Lake Worth office. I've been waiting two weeks to find out if they are going to pay my FPL bill and just received a shut off notice. They should meet with me and tell me then and there if they will pay it!

These people take too long and not to mention how they discriminate and show no kind of remorse for your situation. You will literally be homeless messing around with these people, they act like it’s their money.
