We were visiting Pagosa Springs this past December and my adult daughter went to this clinic sick and was diagnosed with Pneumonia. The staff here took such good care of her including making sure she had oxygen tanks necessary for her recovery. I can’t tell you how much we appreciated the care, compassion and quick response shown to our daughter. We will forever be grateful! I highly recommend this clinic!

My family were in Pagosa on vacation from Texas when our 7 year old daughter began crying/screaming in pain with her ear. We walked in here and got some of the best care we’ve gotten in any medical clinic. All of the staff is very friendly and compassionate. My daughter said this is her favorite doctor she’s ever been to. Thank you for making a bad situation more bearable!!

I use these folks as my primary physician to go to Springs. Colorado I have never had better service at a medical facility. The ladies in the front are incredibly detailed and accurate. The doctors get on immediately and I cannot say enough. Nice things about this whole facility. I highly recommend it.

You can't make an appointment with the doctor here, without going through an NP first. I had lesions on my leg that needed to be biopsied, and I wanted to see a surgeon, but they said I had to see someone else first and then get a"referral" I gave up and got a direct appointment with a surgeon at Pagosa Med Center directly, and saved all the runaround time with PMG.

Everyone here is wonderful. Dr. Reiss-Holt has the best bedside manners, and she truly cares about you. I have a power port, and they go to great lengths to accommodate that. The staff & nurses are very professional, but they make you feel like family at the same time. I honestly cannot say enough about how happy I am regarding my medical care at Pagosa Medical Group.

Edit 2/9/2023: I received a call today (the day after I left my initial review below) from Dr. Schaeffer, apologizing for the failure to share my insurance information with the other facility and for not informing me that my lab work would be sent to an out-of-network facility. He also said they are revamping their procedures in office so that this wouldn't happen to anyone else, and offered any way he might be able to help with the billing and insurance problems this created for me. All of the above is appreciated, and it is refreshing to hear from a medical facility that actually wants to make things right.

I came to Pagosa Medical Group (PMG) three times to get some lab work done ordered by an outside physician. The actual service was fine and I appreciated that they could handle my outside order. However the billing and insurance situation became a complete mess due to PMG’s failures. I received two separate bills – one from PMG for the venipuncture, the other from an outside facility that did the lab work. The first time I received the outside facility’s bill, I saw an adjustment I mistook for an insurance adjustment, thought nothing of it, and paid the bill. When I received the bills for my second visit, I realized that no insurance claims had been made. I called the outside facility, who told me they had not received my insurance information from PMG – so I gave them my information and they mistakenly told me they were in my insurance network, but when my explanation of benefits arrived from my insurance company it became clear that they were not actually in my network and so the claims had been denied. By this time I had already visited PMG for a third round of lab work, so I would have another claim denied. The long and short of it is that not only did PMG not send along my insurance information to the other facility, but more importantly they failed to inform me that they would send my blood to an out-of-network facility – this resulted in what is called “surprise billing” and as of 2022 under the No Surprises Act patients cannot be held responsible for services given out-of-network unbeknownst to the patient. I filed an appeal with my insurance company, who thankfully agreed with me that the situation was against my rights and approved the appeal. However the billing mess that this created between my insurance company and the outside facility has been a nightmare, and just today after many months has finally been resolved. I emailed PMG, detailing all of the above, as I felt I was owed an apology, and because I hoped that they would not do this to anyone else – but I received no response after almost a month, so apparently they don’t care. Had I known PMG would send my lab work to an out-of-network facility, I never would have gone there. I will never use PMG again because of all of this and don’t recommend them.
