As a family of 3, and expecting, We really needed OSTD help this month. We are a veteran family and experiencing tough times as every family does. The entire time, my family and I felt judged and unwelcome asking for assistance. Considering the circumstances we are in, and not hearing a single thing back from them, we still have unpaid rent, no water and no electricity. As a community organization, I really hoped for a better outcome or at least additional resources if they couldn’t help at all.

Operation Stand Down was a huge help when I was down and out and didn't think I had any options. I would recommend that place to any veteran that needs help. Not only did they do a great job helping me but they also cover a wide range of services that you wouldn't think a place like that might cover like homelessness, legal help, food or getting your disability benefits back so if you have any kind of an issue I would go there first.

At first everything seemed good. But after reviewing our lease since we were applying for renting Assistance, they accused us of committing fraud because our lease had “suspicious activity”. We had our landlord assure them and provide proof that this wasn’t a case of fraud and we indeed did need help. OSTD assured us everything will proceed as planned when they got a few more documents regarding our paystubs. Once we submitted them we couldn’t get any sort of response from them via email or phone call. We were completely ghosted and lost 2 weeks of our time. I’m sure they have had cases of fraud and have there own protocols to be followed but telling us everything is okay now since we proved it wasn’t fraud and then to completely ghost us? Really disappointing coming from a veteran organization..

I'm a Navy Veteran who relocated to Clarksville in 2022. OSD of Nashville and now Clarksville has been there for me like family. They have helped me with addiction, shelter, a job not to mention my own apartment.

If their able and it's within their procedures, OSD is a blessing for any Veteran needing assistance. If they can't assist you, then they will provide you with the resources to do so. On both occasions that I reached out, I was never disappointed.

Horrible, they don't follow through on helping veterans and the staff is unfriendly. They will lie right to your face. They need better employees who are there to really serve Veterans. I just tell it like I see it, and if the truth is rough then fix it and make it better!
