The quality of each session, the sincerity of every swim instructors to ensure their students are safe and are still having fun while learning and the structured swim program with various skill levels defined makes this my favorite aquatic program in the bay area for kids and adults alike.

Furthermore, the staff is extremely professional and friendly - this includes Oliver, Emily, Zoey and Desha.

The best part is one can take shower after the swim lessons. There are plenty if shower stalls.

I have joined y for 11 years. I feel y like a family to me. Thanks Matt’s and Sarah helped working on my sister’s membership and she is so happy to enjoy the linedance classes. Also I would like to thank one of my best workout buddy Holly who usually encourages me and recommends the best classes to everyone at Northwest Y.

Love this Y. Clean locker rooms, showers work, lots of equipment, and kid friendly. We signed up for some swim lessons for my daughter and she loves it. The hubby has been pushing me to get back into the weight room and running on the treadmill again. The weight room gets crowded at peak times but it's motivating to see the crowds working out, especially this one girl who is really strong and this pushes me to be better for my health and my kids

Swim teachers, the quality of lessons, friendliness of the front staffs at the desk, aquatic director and his coworkers supporting customer’s needs, safety guards. I can see everyone is doing their job so well. My family really enjoys our time in Northwest Y.

I want to like it… if you want to do Zumba in the water, this may be the place for you. However I’m mostly here for the swimming. Even though the front desk is great, the location is convenient and indoor pool should be good, this place has two tragic flaws that make it hard to like. The pool consistently has water quality issues and the lifeguards are unprofessional. Frequently, they cannot open the pool because a lifeguard hasn’t shown up for work or the water quality is too bad. Also, they close the lap swim early and then yell at swimmers for not getting out of the pool fast enough. They make kids test to swim in the pool but sometimes they don’t enforce the policy. The pool is great if you keep your head above water to swim, or don’t mind your hair smelling like dirty sock water and you’re not bothered by getting skin that’s dry and itchy.

Good YMCA with heated indoor pool. Kid likes the swim class.
Most class are in morning or after 5pm. Just wish there are more kids dance/yoga/group class in weekend or in afternoon.
