Place needs to be CONDEMNED. The public dont know about the back section. Courtyard area. Violence/nasty/unhealthy. Anytime, one could be a victim of attack. Ambulances, are constantly there all hours daily. ODs. Staff are useless. No one cares. Theft out of control. Staff in on it. Case mgrs. are a waste. 2 in particular seem unstable. Peter Stuart and one named Blake. Their chapel is a scam. Many, have made this their long term home.

This place treats guys here HORRIBLE!!! Not to mention it is INFESTED with bed bugs !! I've been here a little over a week. Got eat up with bed bugs my 3rd night here. Got them in ALL my clothes and they (mission staff) won't help me get rid of them other than to move me from one bed to another. What few clothes I arrived with are infested with bed bugs and I'm COVERED in bites from head to toe ! There is NOTHING christian about how this place is ran or managed!! Steer clear of here at ALL POSSIBLE!!

The only good thing about my 2 hour experience here is that they were extremely kind towards the end.

When I got there, they immediately went to tell me how my service dog in training (at the time) would not be allowed. Didn’t ask if she was a service dog or anything. After I told them she was in training to be a service dog, they asked me what my disabilities were that warrant a service dog as ā€œI’m too young to need oneā€ their words. If you don’t already know, that’s not only a violation of federal law of the ADA, but it’s also discrimination.

I kinda brushed it off because I was desperate, they proceeded to search my bag, coming across my vapes, and without telling me they threw one in the trash before I could say something to stop them. According to them, a new rule started THAT DAY saying vapes were not allowed on the premises c and that they would have to either throw them away or I would have to go back where I came from and drop them off. After some convincing, they agreed that they would simply hold them until I could get someone to come pick them up. I had a full blown panic attack, because smoking is my anxiety relief. My meds don’t help me.

Speaking of my meds, I take medication on a struck schedule at 8am, 1pm, 4pm, and 8pm. The 1pm dose is for a boost on my adhd medication, and the 4pm dose is for my seizures, because taking it any sooner or later than that doesn’t prevent them. taking it at 4pm doesn’t prevent it either, but it decreases the severity by a LOT. This is because my seizures happen every single day after 4pm, so it’s in my system strongest during that time. They told me that my 1pm and 4pm dose would have to be taken at 8am or 8pm. I tried telling them that that wasn’t possible as my health needs needed them to be at the times that I took them. Even my bottle for my adhd medicine says to take at 1pm. They still refused.

Moving on to my service dog in training again. If I was to have a seizure, they would HAVE to call 911 against my wishes.

Now before I go any further, let me note that my seizures are focal seizures. They literally look like a bored kid at school zoning off into space. They affect my speech, my walking (which is okay with a cane), but that’s the worst part of it.

So anyways, my point in explaining my seizures is to get the point across that 911 is NOT necessary. Even doctors and nurses at the hospital in the past has said to only call if I was to fall and hit my head, or fall and have some sort of other major injury, like a possible broken arm.

They told me that against my wishes, they would call 911 every single time. Now, I have seizures every day. Sometimes 2 a day. Could you imagine my medical bills considering I have terrible insurance?

On top of that, they told me that my service dog in training would not be allowed in the ambulance, and they would have to call my family and friends (the same family that said ā€œfck you, go to a damn shelterā€) and have someone pick the dog up. If no one picked her up, they would have a shelter person come pick her up for abandonment, and place her up for adoption.

Come to find out, service dogs in training ARE allowed in ambulances until and unless they get aggressive. I called a local emt non emergency number and asked. Not to mention, now that she’s no longer in training, the card showing she is a service animal states that she is to not be seperated from me for any reason, and that she is allowed anywhere that the public is allowed.

If I wasn’t in desperate need, I’d say that I will never go back, but honestly l, I’m in desperate need so I’m going to have to go back.

That being said, I don’t recommend this shelter to anyone with medications at certain times, smokers, or people with service dogs, let alone all 3.

I'm in the shelter right now. Unfortunately my car was repoed and I don't have a residence. I'm mailing a Pre-Warrant application to Magistrate Court. Someone has cashed a check for over $20,000 that my dad was holding for me.

I really need to reveal the reality of the Nashville Rescue Mission. This ragged, rancid, God-forsaken place feels ripped right from the pages of Dostoevsky. The bathroom reeks of rot. One stall bears a repulsive pile of crap perched on the lid, while the only usable stall lies between four ruined, repugnant ones. Rivers of filth run from the urinals to the sinks that stand silent and useless. In my four restless days here, I haven’t witnessed a single roll of toilet paper or even a drop of soap.

You must wade through the repellent puddles of piss and rank waste just to relieve yourself. It’s revolting beyond words, and no matter how hard I try, I can’t rid my mind of the rancid image.

Every night, there's this raw, riotous scene straight out of Lord of the Flies. Before the preacher can even finish his prayer, men race, run, and ramble toward the doors, wrestling their way to get one of the rare blankets. It’s ruthless, desperate, and ridiculous to see grown men reduced to this, fighting for something as basic as a blanket.

Then, there’s the relentless bugs. Everyone is riddled with bites. I’ve seen them crawling in the crevices of the bunks, flipping them off my bed while my skin remains ravaged. The filth fuels this never-ending plague, and no one here escapes unscathed.

To add insult to injury, four of my clothes were ripped from my bag, stolen right out in the open. And on my second day here, I nearly got into a reckless fight. The tension is raw and ready to snap at any moment. I’ve been in plenty of rough jails, but none of them can rival the wreckage of this place.

Even more ridiculous is that this isn’t a government-run facility. It's solely reliant on Christian donations, with each resident reportedly costing $6,000 a month. Yet here we are, 450 of us, rotting in squalor.

I met two older, road-worn homeless men out on the streets. They told me they would rather rest under the relentless weather than return to this place. And now, I understand why.

I came here on my birthday 10/04/2024. It was the most frightening time of my life, my family was against me & only God was with me! Coming here was hard for me, because I am a creature of habit. Once I learned the ropes & discovered all the resources that were available to me here, I loved it!
They can help get your birth certificate, get on food stamps, emergency clothing is available, They even have a dorm for just the moms & their babies! Plus you can come lay down on a comfortable bed after a nice warm shower...Just make sure to get the eating schedule so you don't miss out on that part!

When my ex-husband set me on fire and left me for dead I end up there for a few weeks inside the building where I was harassed my privacy was broken I had to tell them about certain things about how I was born that I keep secret because people judge me even though God made me the way I am the staff immediately told the rest of the facility members what I had told them in confidence and made them swear under God's name not to tell.. this left me open to ridicule horrible acts towards my person and then finally had to be in the hospital for 4 days because I ate one teaspoon of the food and lost 36 lb over 4 days about to use the bathroom over 100 times a day in the hospital my blood tests are currently being sent to a special facility to test for rare poisons many people have complained lately that they are having constant bouts of lower GI this place is a lot of things but it doesn't even rate a .5 in my book then Glenn the CEO and preacher stands up there and pontificates and talks about one time in my sitting there how he took care of himself and he lived the Lord's work he probably really believes himself and everything that came out of his mask wearing mouth was not true this is my opinion and we're in America we have the right to our opinion and also being an ordained minister I know a godly man when I see one and he is not one in my opinion I don't know how this place got those good reviews it probably came from the staff and the drug dealers that work in there I saw that with my own eyes daily as far as the other reviews they probably came from the drug dealers within the place that I watched deal drugs every day I was there.
Edit update In St Thomas same issues 4 months later found a nasty pathogen been in 18 plus days .
