I am in the beginning stages of my Home Buying journey with NACA and have had a really great experience. I am located near Portland, OR so this is my closest NACA office, but was able to complete the Home Buying course online as well as be connected virtually with a NACA Mortgage Counselor.

After completing the online course, I made an appointment a few weeks out with my counselor. She reached out shortly after and provided additional appointment options the very next week. The meeting was easy and informative, and provided me with clear next steps.

The process is tedious and you will need to track your spending and ensure you are set up to afford the new mortgage that you qualify for, but I am really grateful for this mortgage program as it provides me much more buying power than a traditional mortgage would. I also will be left with more cash due to no fees or down payment requirements, which will allow me more flexibility with repairs and renovations.

My experience with NACA thus far has been wonderful. My counselor is thorough and takes his time during our appointments to ensure all pertinent information is accurate and complete—he encourages me to exercise agency and advocacy with any questions I have regarding the home buying process. Additionally, my experience with the corporate headquarters in Boston has been positive. I have also found leadership to be very responsive and supportive towards members who have questions about the process.

Overall, NACA is a wonderful opportunity and I am appreciative of the support I have received from them during this journey towards meeting my goals.

I lied on my previous review because I was forced to post a review before I could actually have a full opinion of the program. NACA would have been an incredible program, but as always there's systemic racism everywhere. Even here. I was going through the program until I was requested to do something impossible. I already knew this black girl wasn't ever going to be a homeowner. Not in this white world. Oh well, at least I tried. Thanks for nothing NACA!

NACA's foundation, Best in America Mortgage offers outstanding terms; no down payment, no closing cost, no mortgage insurance, no credit score consideration, at a below market fixed interest rate. This is an incredible program that opens up doors for people of color and allows us to avoid housing discrimination that is so very prevalent in the real estate industry. I'm going through the process now, and I couldn't be happier with being given the opportunity to be a homeowner, which I had already categorized as an impossibility. NACA makes the impossible, possible!
