The home was absolutely beautiful! It had everything you would expect from an AirBnb. I was a little taken back by the fact that we found out it was a zero smoke/vape โ€œcommunityโ€ an hour or two before arrival. This should have been disclosed on the listing. Another requirement was that we start the washing machine and dump the trash before check out. This doesnโ€™t seem like something the guest should be responsible for, being that we are being charged for cleaning services. In addition to that, the trash garage area didnโ€™t operate properly, and we were unable to gain access. Overall it was a very nice place to stay but guests should have all the information upfront to make the best decision for the group.

Eight of us visited Mountains and Memories in mid January for a scrapbooking weekend. From the time we arrived and Phil carried in EVERY SINGLE PIECE of our luggage (including VERY heavy scrapbooking bags!) to the time we departed, we were treated like royalty. The scrap area was exquisite and each table fully stocked with mats, lights, electrical strips, cushy chairs, extra blankets, etc. Trash cans were emptied by Phil every night! Yummy snacks and beverages were available just fingertips from our tables. Becky had extra supplies, Cricuts, scrap paper and other items for our use as well as a "store" in the back room for us to purchase anything we may have needed or forgotten. All meals were heavenly and filling (luckily Becky shared every recipe with us!). Phil and Becky were welcoming, personable and attentive-always available if we needed anything yet didn't invade our space or be over-involved as we were scrapbooking and watching chick flicks (chosen from their hundreds of DVDs!). The accommodations were gracious and our beds were serene and relaxing. Each bathroom had everything we might need. We are already booking another trip THIS YEAR and would recommend this retreat to anyone for a nice getaway weekend.

There were 12 of us that attended a 4 day quilting retreat last year and we're looking forward to a repeat visit in October of this year (2014). We were totally pampered by Becky and Phil - from the moment we arrived we only had to sew, socialize, sleep, eat and eat well we did thanks to Becky and Phil - preparing delicious home cooked meals, serving and cleaning up. Yep, pampered like I said! During the evening Phil would graciously serve us our desired hot specialty coffees or coco. Their home was beautiful, super clean and well set up for all of us. We were able to concentrate on our projects from morning until night and through the night if we chose. Taking a short break and walking through the National Forrest was just an added perk! Becky and Phil couldn't be nicer people with a fun little dog, Mr. Bones! Looking forward to seeing them in a few weeks.

We stayed here this summer and it was absolutely our favorite place we stayed on our whole trip. Alison has the place set up to a tee! She even had shampoo and all the needed supplies in the bathroom, coffee bar, popcorn for movie night and the list could go on. Very clean!! GREAT location! We will definitely be back!

Mountains & Memories is an all-inclusive scrapbook retreat in a beautifully decorated large, spotless, new mountain home. The set up is perfect for a girls weekend getaway with (2) large 5-person bedrooms on the upper level connected by a jack and jill bathroom, and (1) 2-person bedroom on the lower level. The owners and hosts of the lodge reside on the main floor. Each bed is an individual twin, with fuzzy warm bedding.||||The atmosphere feels very pampering with wonderful scented bath products, warm throws, gorgeous leather furniture, a woodburning fireplace in the den, an abundant supply of snacks, picture windows... The basement is outfitted as a scrapbookers dream with 12 crafting tables all individually lit, a printer, a Cricut, and plenty of supplies. The house has wifi so you can bring a laptop to work on if you're a digital scrapbooker. ||||All meals are handmade by the hosts in the open kitchen - breakfast, lunch and dinner, and served at a large dining table. We were well-fed and everything was delicious! There are even nightly lattes! They are currently only open on weekends: Thurs - Sun, or Fri - Sun. ||||The house is nestled in a forest near a river and the wildlife is abundant. We got to see a flock of wild turkeys just walking by the property, heard an elk bugling, and saw numerous different birds and ground animals.||||It would be hard to pick my favorite thing about the weekend I spent there with my girlfriends, but the list would be: gorgeous setting in the mountains (first snow of the season!), special time away with friends, no cleaning up after anything, lots of time to focus on my scrapbook, feeling pampered. At the end of the weekend we all booked our return trip for next year!

If I were to mention all of the positives about Mountains and Memories I would need way too much space! Please do not let the one negative review sway you (I am writing this because I was shocked to see that!). I have been to M and M 3 times, and have brought friends that continue to go as well. The experience will ruin you for any other retreat you could possible attend. Becky and Phil are the most gracious and accommodating hosts, as well as 2 of the most honest people that I have ever met. I am sure that whatever arrangements were made, they were being fair, honest, and consistent in their decisions. You have to respect that. The reason why the police did not want folks coming up was for the "looky loos" that had no business being there, and she did receive a full refund minus deposit for the weekend itself (which by the way was an exception to the policy for short notice). I have NOTHING but great things to say about M and M and Becky/Phil. You won't find a more enjoyable weekend, and you will leave with new friends that include your hosts. Do not hesitate one minute to book your weekend. Look at the calendar...speaks for itself! ๐Ÿ™‚

I signed up for a Thursday-Sunday retreat online. I made an initial down payment of $50 and then agreed to 5 additional payments of $55. For the next 3 months I was charged $50 and then $55 at the first of the month. It took over a month to get this issue fixed. Then 1 month before the retreat she billed the taxes. This should have been it and I was paid in full. The beginning of the next month I was billed AGAIN! This issue was eventually fixed as well. I was scheduled to go to the retreat September 19-22. Due to historic flooding in the area all roads in and out were closed only to residence. On September 16th Becky cancelled the weekend, due to this act of God. She offered to reschedule our weekend to a different weekend in 2013. Unfortunately none of the dates she offered worked for my schedule. On September 18th we were informed that one road had been open into Estes Park and that the retreat was still on. After contacting both the Larimer County Sheriff's Department and the Town of Estes Park, we were advised that "yes, the road is open. Please don't come yet. We can not handle visitors at this time." So in respect for the residents of Estes Park and surrounding areas, I decided to head the advice of the Sheriff. While my money has been refunded for the retreat, I was not refunded the $50 for the deposit as Becky says she didn't cancel the weekend, I did. I did not voluntarily cancel. I headed the advice of the local law enforcement. Customer Service is not a strong suit of this business. Phone calls are returned with snarky, short emails. The billing problems were not apologized for, excuses were made. The retreat was refunded but the deposit was kept because โ€œit was my cancelation.โ€ Buyer BEWARE!!! Maybe it would have been a lovely time, but I have such a bad taste in my mouth for how I was treated and Mountains & Memories customer service, that I will never know.

Love this location. We go every year. I cook dinners for the group and the kitchen is nice. A few basic things for cooking were missing but overall a great place.
