This lodge also has a campsite and a site for an smaller RV. We visited in our camper-van and made the lodge our base for 3 days while we explored the area. Staff and Jeanine were all very helpful. The night sky was simply amazing and the view overlooking the town gorgeous. Please note: You are on the edge of a desert so cactus and sand abound, BUT even if extreme wind and blowing sand come, you’ll be fine. (We had a dust storm one night we were there and felt very secure!) We will stay here again when we re-visit the area.

Room was very clean and furnished with everything you need. The kitchenette was sufficient for my needs, I appreciated the dishes and utensils. I brought my own cooked food which I warmed up in the microwave, and a rice cooker to make oatmeal and rice. The room stayed warm and I didn't need to use the heater in the winter. Location is convenient to the Davis Mountains and for a day trip south to Big Bend. The sky is dark and full of stars, I saw the milky way with my naked eye. The Cafe makes a mean burger! This place is precious and I would stay here again.

Spent a couple of days in one of our favorite areas on the planet and stayed at mountain view for the first time. Perfect base location for the area whether you are going to big bend, balmorrhea or just any of the very many sights and sensory delights the region has to offer.

My family and I loved the gazebo area at night and we took full advantage of the cafe for breakfast to get us started for the day. We definitely will come back!

Great place to stay! Marisa, William, and the whole staff made are groups stay the best we have ever had in the Big Bend area. The location in great with good dark skies. The rooms were extremely clean and roomy. The rate was incredible! And William makes the best omelette and hamburger in the valley.
The place is worth a look!

This is a nice spott, just outside of the town of Fort Davis. There's plenty to do and see around this area so I say you could do 2 to 3 nights here. We'd only stayed one on the way back from Big Bend. The cabins are cosy and come with a proper AC/heating system. Cleanliness was above standard and the bed was very comfortable. The only downside is the lack of a hairdryer and the bathroom being so small.
I'd come again.

Everyone was so kind, food and service were great. Easy and comfortable check in. Most importantly i felt safe as a solo female traveler. There is a little porch i rocked on and watched the stars on. Absolutely beautiful experience. The last half of my stay the clouds were out and the mist/dew was magical to greet in the morning. It was so calm and blissful, the most relaxing week i had that i badly needed. I can not wait to go back!! I would like my dog to come with me next time tho, I'll have to contact for that. Oh but if i recall well, they give mil discounts 🥰

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at the Mountain View Lodge! We got in late at night from our 10+ hour road trip and the check-in process was so easy and fast. We were able to bring our two dogs, and the cabin was so comfortable and cozy. The view was unbeatable both at day and night! I swear you can see every star in the sky at night!

Great little getaway room. We went to the Observatory that night and needed to stay local. Once back we sat on the front porch and looked at the stars. Very quiet, clean and was just right for an overnight stay. We were able to put our snacks and wine in the fridge and just enjoy the evening. We brought our own camp chairs for the porch, even though there were 2 chairs provided. We always travel with camp chairs! Did not go to the restaurant, but it smelled great. Will definitely stay again when in the area
