I LOVE THIS PLACE! Mountain Shadows provides their Residential, Day Program and Outreach Support services in the best possible way! This is a challenging environment in every way; and yet the management team has managed to provide the best living and programing available for this population. Staff here are amazing every day, giving so much more than their pay reflects. Thank you! Mountain Shadows is a premier non-profit caring for individuals with severe disabilities; no easy task on limited state funding! The 29th ANNUAL GOLF fundraiser just concluded and was another great success; thanks to a dedicated team which plans this event. All funds generated from fundraisers, donations and planned giving go directly to support Mountain Shadows clients! I'm so lucky to be a small part of such a wonderful place! Thank you!!!

I am a parent to one of the residents here at Mountain Shadows. My daughter has lived here for five years.

It’s unfortunate to see some of the negative reviews and disheartening because many parents of residents remain involved to reinvest their time to help this organization run. In fact, it was the family members of disabled loved ones that decided to turn mountain Shadows into what it is today.

Family members can enter the facility at any time they wish. Other than during Covid, there are no closed doors to families.

I zoom with my daughter every couple days and I am on the campus every few weeks. I have never once seen an incident of concern.

The amount of care it takes for these residents often times is a thankless job and yet somehow this organization finds a way to provide the best care possible.

DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE.

I used to love visiting my loved one here. Until I had my encounter with witnessing Trisha an employee on MULTIPLE occasions Harrass employees in front of our loved ones. We have reported it numerous times with no resolution.

I advise you to NOT entrust this facility with your family members. What this Mountain Shadows portrays on there welcoming video or on YouTube is FALSE at this location.

Multiple employees I am in contact either have been terminated for speaking up.

Trisha needs to realize she's there to do a job to treat our loved ones with the utmost care, not being putting them or any employee through neglect or verbal abuse. If we have not witnessed it with our own ears and eyes we wouldn't have believed it. We have witnessed it when Trisha thinks we are not there. Trisha is supposed to be a Qualified Intellectual disability professional; this is not a new issue either.

We are undergoing reporting this facility to the proper authorities to advocate for every resident being mistreated & neglected! As for the company. We will not disclose which family member is there until we feel safe to do so due to retaliation to our loved one by your staff until we relocate them to a safe establishment.

My son is non verbal with a seizure disorder, and severely mentally challenged. He was physically abused (punched several times) by a staff member, neglected, and treated as a problem by the management. The physical abuse was witnessed by another staff member and reported 2 days later. The homes are run by unexperienced kids, no "management" on the weekends and the higher up staff are very unprofessional. The nurse has to be told how to take care of clients and the doctor on staff can care less about the clients. I had to instruct these people at Mtn. Shadows how to care for my son. My son was "supposedly" left alone in a shower and ended up with an injured lip and missing his front teeth. On 2 different holiday weekends my son was found alone on the main busy street by passerby's. He had been in the ER several times for injuries and dehydration. I can go on and on about how horrible this place is. Please do a lot of research before placing your loved one. I trusted my Regional Ctr. coordinator and had no idea how horrible this place is. In speaking to several people who have worked with Mtn. Shadows they also have had very awful experiences. This place has traumatized my son and my family. My son is now moved into a loving environment with responsible care. I really hope this info. helps someone's family. I had to select one star - its zero stars.

In response to the response given by Mtn. Shadows by my review, as I said they are very unprofessional people and it shows by the response the person gave. A caregiver PUNCHING a resident all over their body has nothing to do with me. It has to do with the horrible care givers and management this place employs. My review is facts and they have no other option but to put blame on the "research" and myself, What a BIG JOKE. My son is a level 5 special needs adult who needs round the clock care at all times. I am very involved in my sons life, I had to hire a lawyer to get him out of Mtn. Shadows asap, my situation as a bread winner/ mother has nothing to do with their facility neglecting and abusing residents. This facility gets paid over 10,000.00 a month to give residents proper care and they don't. This facility cant even give medication as directed or feed their residents, I can go on and on like I said before. If I am not involved in my sons life why would I right this review to warn people about what a horrible facility this is. The blaming is honestly what I am used to by these unprofessional people, they blamed Jacob who is non verbal and brain damaged for everything. My son and all residents at Mtn. Shadows have a right to proper care and there is no excuse for abuse and neglect. Some of these residents do not have family at all to advocate for them so imagine how they are being treated and what things this place is doing to them. Their website is vey false and everything they advertise is false. I thank Mtn. Shadows for the response because it goes to show their responsibility for the abuse and neglect but want to blame me as Jacob's mother for it. I am definitely not a disgruntled individual with a personal agenda, I only state facts and I work real hard to take care of my whole family and I will never fail Jacob.

This place can be highly unorganized and communication between staff IS TERRIBLE. They have some of the wrong people in positions they shouldn't be.
