I had been dealing with one of the most stressful weeks in my long life and had but one free day in the Denver area. I was looking for something in close proximity that would give me access to a pool and the opportunity to do some hiking in the mountains.. Had I had three or four days free,I would likely have headed tomValley View Hot Springs which I have visited many times when I have been in Colorado. I searched the internet and found MAR which was less the an hour’s drive from where I was staying. Interesting, but was it for me?||I will admit to considerable hesitancy at first about visiting MAR as I had never been to a “nudist resort” as such, although I have been to various clothing-optional venues. I called MAR and spoke with Janet who was very friendly, cheerful and answered all my questions as well as letting me know their requirements for entry. Fair enough, i arrived on a Monday morning not certain what to expect and it was Janet who greeted me, handled the check-in and gave me the tour of the property. Great chat with her during the tour and greatly appreciated!||There were very few people there being the low season and a weekday. I had a lovely, warm, salt-water swimming pool all to myself and I simply floated for more than a hour and achieved a state of relaxation I don’t think I have ever known. The pool is beautiful, warm and very, very clean as are the hot tub, sauna, showers and rest rooms.||There are roughly 10 miles of trails within the MAR property and I decided to do some hiking after my long, long soak. I did a big circle loop and enjoyed vistas in all directions. Hot and sweaty, showered when I got back and spent the balance of my visit swimming and sunning. Anyone planning to hike the trails needs good hiking shoes or boots; flip-flops and light shoes won’t cut it. I would consider the trails to be “moderate” at most.||I enjoy conversation with individuals and couples. I did interact with two couples and quite enjoyed our conversations. There are a lot of group activities at MAR at other times and I have to admit that I am not a “party animal” in any setting so that aspect simply doesn’t interest me in the future. However I greatly enjoyed what I experienced. For an out-of-towner like myself, it was a bargain price-wise, and it was a wonderful, relaxing break from an otherwise very stressful trip. I will be back, hopefully.||As final parting comments, I believe the MAR website will give you an excellent overview and you can decide if ii’s for you. If you are hesitant, give it a try anyway. I’m glad I did!

Terrific place to visit. People are friendly. Pool and hot tub are newly refurbished and were wonderful. The pool was heated to 84 degrees. The hiking trails are well maintained and enjoyable. Mule deer roam and we saw them several times. There is a cafe and breakfast was delicious.. The town of Littleton isn't far if you want to go out for dinner but they do have several delivery options that you can meet at the gate. We will definitely go again if in the area.

Great staff, beautiful site, great new pool, and very friendly people creating a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We (a family w/ 2 kids) only stayed for a day + a night but absolutely loved it here.

I took a long weekend and stayed at the ponderosa cabin. It was my first and definitely not last time visiting a nudist resort. The cabin was great, super comfy bed, lots of towels, full kitchen, all the things. And for $140 a night with taxes included! Totally a fair price. Good food by the pool, shower, pool and hot tub were all very clean. The staff and guests were all very welcoming, friendly folks all around! The hiking trails are great, well marked and I saw a lot of deer. Great experience all around 10/10

Beautiful grounds and nice, helpful staff. We stayed in the lodge which was a little dated but very clean. The upstairs room was pretty hot even with the a/c cranked. Thank goodness for the lovely staff member who found a fan for us to use...thank you!

The hiking trails were the bomb and well marked. Great for getting an outdoor workout. They have a tiny gift shop. We were pleasantly surprised it had so many nice things to choose from.

I have to knock off a few stars since their website mentions a cafe with home cooked meals. That sounded great to us since we had been camping for the last week and were looking forward to it. Nope...only open on weekends. It would have been very helpful if the website mentioned this since we would have shopped before we arrived. Now we had to get dressed and leave to shop for food for the next four days. It all worked out in the end even with the inconvenience.

Mountain Air Ranch (MAR) is a family friendly nudist resort located at 7000 feet, in the foothills west of Denver, CO. MAR was founded in 1935 and is a long term member of the American Association of Nude Recreation (AANR). The club has a pool, hot tub, sauna, clubhouse, shuffle board, paddle tennis, bocce ball courts and miles of hiking trails. Lodging is available as well as RV & tenting areas.

Visitors are welcome although if you live in Colorado you will have to apply for membership after a few visits. The club has hundreds members with diverse backgrounds. You will find all political and religious beliefs as well as all economic statuses represented by the people you will meet, but they all share a love of experiencing life without the burden of wearing clothes.

A remark heard over and over again is how open and accepting everyone is and how self acceptance improves as the result of practicing social nudism. Swimming, hiking and socializing nude connect you to the world around you in a unique way and should be experienced at least once in a lifetime. MAR is a child safe environment with a great children's playground. Remember that every review contains bias and subjective opinion, come visit and see for yourself.
