I needed to change my bank acct direct deposit and decided to pay my bill that was due the next day… when I paid it asked if I’d like to do an auto payment from now on, I clicked yes. The next day on the due date I noticed there were two payments in same amount. When I went to my acct it said two payments were posted. I called to get a refund and they told me I could not until it cleared my account, all I’d have to do is go into local office and show that it’s cleared my account and I’d receive a refund for the balance that’s now on my account. Shouldn’t seem necessary since there’s clearly a balance on my account, but okay. I did that the next day going into the local MJ office.. the lady told me I’d have to email her a screenshot of it as she has to email it to her main office accountants to get a check cut and it could be the next day, that I actually didn’t need to come in I could’ve just emailed the screen shot. Took half an hour, and check was cut. The lady in the local office was helpful and nice but the lady who I spoke with on customer service day before clearly did not understand what the actual process was and it caused me to do more work than necessary. The most frustrating part of all of this is it doesn’t matter because electric does not have competitors and you have to have this service if you live in a specific area, so customer service doesn’t matter that much to monopolies such as MTEMC.

I am just moving into an apartment and hope the service is good. My first impression is that having a connection fee where service is already connected seems like a scam charge. At least they waive the deposit for having great credit!

We had a very confusing electrical issue with our home. I contacted MTEMC and they were here minutes later. They gave us guidance as to best course of action and showed up promptly when electrician needed meter pulled to work on fixing our problem. So impressed with their quick responses, courteous, professional service and concern with resolving our problem. They deserve SO much credit for what they do for our community!

I would like to send a sincere thank you to the entire staff who contributed to restoring electricity to our homes after the storm on the 7/29/2023 and a special Thank you to the outdoor staff who were immediately on scene in our neighborhood working to restore power to us and the MJ area. I wish i could remember the guys name but he was really great.. he was really nice and had us taken care far quicker than I thought. Plus it was on New years day. Someone hit and broke our power pole the night before and left. The whole crew showed up and had power back on in a few hours. Our driveway has always been messed up,potholes and ruts , could never get the landlord to fix it,well they made it worse with the bucket trucks,not that they could help it but within 2 days they brought some gravel out and fixed the driveway. Its better than its ever been. I really appreciate them caring enough to take care of it.

We live in Wilson County off the 109 & I 40. We’ve been here less than a year. Whenever it rains with a little wind & lightening, we lose power. This very afternoon & evening we’ve lost it 8 times so far! It’s not raining nor lightning! What is the issue Very unacceptable🥵
