I don't know what is the 1 star review about. Yes I usually book conference at minimum 4-6 months in advance, not 2 months in advance. Most of the time i stay in the conference hotel location with discounted rates. But there is occasion when we travel with more family members we use Airbnb (most of the time we rent a house).

All the sessions is well lay out. They always half day conference so we can enjoy the other half of the day sightseeing (yes most physicians goes to conference to relax too on top of updating our knowledge especially how hectic our day to day situations).

I have been doing at. Least 10s of them in the past. the only year we didn't attend was back in March 2020 (it was cancelled a due to .....you know why 😅😅) .

I do recommend MER conferences ( and no I am not one of the presenter or the faculty of MER conferences).

I feel obligated to place a review here, as the two MER Primary Care Conferences I've been to have been excellent as far as destination powerpoint lectures with prompt timing and good food and schedules daily. Please note the only commented-on one-star review below did not actually attend a conference. I have no disclosures or relationships to be made known and I am a primary care physician assistant in a single-provider clinic (a mental health specialist and me, with collaborating MD off site). Before that, I was an urgent care PA for 5 years.

Just returned from the last three days conference in Times Square, NYC. The women's health focus with the given gynecologist, endocrinologist, and cardiologist were well suited for primary care lecture and they all we're impressive communicators. The two MER staff members on-site specifically were informative and helpful. The MER app had all the powerpoint lectures loaded onto it before day one. The app processed my CME certificate into my e-mail within minutes after I filled out my
review on the app. Both this Marriott Marquis and the one I went to in Orlando a couple of years ago (Disney World), had excellent breakfast buffets daily, plenty of coffee and juices.

Let's be transparent, here. Destination education is a perk of the use of our medical education contractual funds. I will keep using MER because they operate in many place I want to go, and I don't mind keeping trips primarily about the education in order to justify them. Also, there are many dates in which to choose from. I love the AAPA national conference, but that's one date one location, which doesn't always fit my ability to leave the clinic.

I suppose the only downside is the lack of hands-on stations. Not that I sign up for many of these at other conferences, but they do sound fun and educational. Such as suturing, knee injection, bedside ECG or ultrasound.

This organization is ill organized in CME conference ; I registered for conference 2 months earlier from due date online but was not able to get Hotel registeration online . I called hotel found room are not available on discount rate of CME but available on regular rate . I tried to get help from organization but found it not helpful. "Holly Canon" was very mean. I will never chose this organization for CME and suggest physician fellows double check you hotel before registering with this organization.
