Mendocino a once whaling town now artist Community is located a couple hours north of the Golden Gate Bridge. Beautiful beaches and rocky bluffs so picturesque. Rent a kayaks and paddle up the Big River and view eagles soaring among the giant redwood trees.

Mendo Parks is a very important part of helping the parks in the Mendocino community. They help run the the State Parks visitor centers in Mac Kerricher, Van Damme, Ford House Center and the Elk Visitor Center and Museum. They staff, sell and explain things about the local area.

Cute little town out of a book. Maybe a little a little on the artsy snobby side, but fun to walk around.
