I was so pleasantly surprised when I went to the resale shop. The staff was friendly and efficient and the selection of items in good condition was great. The store itself was well organized and clean and one of my favorite sections is the book section. It is a terrific library. The retail shop is just a small part of all they offer.

After my divorce I’ve been trying hard to rebuild my life. I can’t say these are the easiest times. I started going to MAM a year ago, to find help with applying for government programs. I found a place where clients are treated with respect, no matter their backgrounds. Very different than any of my experiences looking for this kind of help, this place felt welcoming, when I had to go with my kids on me there were books for them, receptionists, navigators, everyone I encountered had an honest interest in helping. I went to Indira FrĆas who helped me gain a better understanding of how to organize my personal finances and encouraged me to continue to work towards goals I mentioned in regards of my small business ideas. Emiliana Alizo has been an angel on earth, she helped me apply for helps I had been having a hard time completing on my own, she provided me of vouchers for clothes in a moment I was trying a new job and I couldn’t afford much, and she aided me while applying for Harris Health system before, during and after a temporary disability rooting from a car accident I had recently.

At MAM there are classes for ESL, programs for entrepreneurs, financial literacy programs, free shots for children of families in need.

This is the kind of places /people that make us feel not everything is lost. I am forever in debt and always will be grateful for all the help I received. God Bless

This is one of my favorite places to thrift! Lisa, one of their employees, is always so kind and ready to help in every way she can! Great Customer Service Skills! The last time I shopped there, Lisa as well as Missy, an employee I had never met before, were incredibly helpful and once again, I left happy with the experience I had while thrifting!

As much as I do appreciate that they do help people and all. I can't say much about their store. They say they're a non-profit organization but, yet their the same ones who take people's donations to help the poor with clothing and supplies and over price them. The surprising thing is that not even when they were new shoes or clothes were they sold at that high price. They label clothing with pink and colored tags so people who get a voucher for assistance with clothing and shoes can only get the uglier, faded and worn out clothes and also over pricing them. A toddlers dress faded and not in all good condition $12.00! Ripped shoes $30.00! Like what!? Omg! I'm disgusted on how much they take advantage of people's donations. Just like Goodwill. Nothing but business and greed. They told me if I gave them a good review they would choose my name for a $100.00 certificate to their store. As much as I do need those $100.00 I would never lie on people who do things with greed. If you say you want to do something for the community/people with nothing in return then do that. But, don't say your a nonprofit organization and yet you are cashing in on all the same people's or other people's donations who give with their good intentions. If you want something in return then don't label y'all selfs as a nonprofit organization.
