Attended an event at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center located on the campus of Texas Tech, Lubbock, Texas. If it is your first time visiting this location Google maps will get you very close to this location's parking. My suggestion, plan on getting to the location at a minimum thirty minutes prior to the beginning of the event as parking near to the venue is limited when school is in session. Once on campus pay attention to the small directional signs to this location. Once in this venue parking the front door is clearly marked. If using the handicap parking you will notice non handicap parking is closer to the main entrance. Staff are remarkably helpful. There is one handicap parking spot on the backside of the building with an entrance. With regards to the food, the chicken was very good. The catering staff added more food for the stragglers. The lighting and seating was comfortable. The building was decorated true to the season. While the building is older, it is the tradition of this location that adds to its charm. My suggestion is to take the time to walk the halls to view the history displayed on the walls. It is a visual feast to the tradition and pride as evident by the brilliant choices of photography. I found myself smiling back at the unknown person captured displaying their joy at the securing of their college rings. I better understand what is behind Texas Tech rightly earned pride of place. In addition I must add that the people who sponsored the attended event continued to reach out to those in their community who have experience unasked for hardship. With the true meaning of Christmas giving, foster children were treated to abundant requests to complete their secondary desires. I say secondly because typically any foster child we have cared for in our home desires above all else a family. The people who sponsored this event as well as those who run this venue gave great care to the foster parents and foster children making them feel wanted. Thank you for the kindness.

A beautiful facility with lots of character !

We "Auction Pro" conducted a live auction during a GALA held there.

It was a great place to do so !!

All the employees are polite, friendly and very professional !!

This includes food servers all the way to the management.
